In May 1985, 17-year-old Shari Smith went missing from her driveway. Her family and their community held out hope that she would be found safe. Shortly after, the family started receiving phone calls from a man who had details of Shari’s abduction. What happened next would not only affect her family, but also the family of a nine-year-old girl–Debra May Helmick.
