Pattern: Football Coccon & Hat by Kelly Dager- $4 US

Needles: US 15 (10mm)

Yarn: Lion Brand Homespun USA (Billings Chocolate & NY White) 1 skein of the white was enough to make 3 cocoons & 3 hats. Cocoons take more than 1 skein each. 3 skeins would be plenty for 2 cocoons + their matching hats.

Stitches Midwest 2015 Socks- for me

Yarn: Socks that Rock Lightweight

Needles: US 1.5 (2.5 mm)

Pattern: OMG Heel Socks by Megan Williams

Regia Socks- Mom's birthday

Yarn: US 1.5 (2.5 mm)

Needles: Regia Design Lines Colorations Color by Kristin Nicholas

Pattern: OMG Heel Socks by Megan Williams

Schwimmen Hat

Pattern: Schwimmen by Shannon Cook $4.95

Yarn: Hedgehog Fibres Merino DK in poison colorway- so much depth of color

US 6 & 7 ( 4.0 & 4.5 mm) needles

Greyhaven Hat

Pattern: Greyhaven Hat by Robin Ulrich $5 US

Needles: US 5 (3.75mm) for ribbing & US 7 (4.5mm) for body

Yarn: MadelineTosh Tosh DK in Midnight in Manhattan- purchased at Vogue Knitting Live in NYC in January

Third time I've made this hat; it's one of my favorites.

Rhinebeck Socks 2015

Yarn: Gales Art Sock blank

Needles: US 1.5

Pattern: OMG Heel by Megan Williams

Turned heel on sock #2 and my friend Megg and nephew Oisin both knit on them!

Winter Brights Hat

Yarn: Plymouth Merino DK (cream color) & Hedgehog Fibres Merino DK in Genie colorway- short bursts of color

Needles: US 4 & 5 (3.5 & 3.75 mm)

May remember my Fall Brights Hat-- too big. Never wear it. This will be its replacement

Dan's 1st Patterned Socks

Yarn: US 1.5 (2.5 mm)

Needles: Regia Design line by Arne & Carlos

Pattern: OMG by Megan Williams

I'm looking forward to casting on Susan B Anderson's new Octopus pattern with Tink Yarn in the Stardust colorway!

Dan and I thoroughly enjoyed Season 1 of Jessica Jones on Netflix

Knitting in Passing

Last Thursday I taught my friend Erika to knit! She did a great job learning the Long Tail Cast on and the knit stitch! Can't wait to work with her some more.

On Friday night, my dear friend Megg asked to knit on my sock and began talking about wanting to have her own project. On Saturday, we went to the local yarn shop and got her set up!

Megg learned to Cast On and how to purl and practiced those. I knit most of the cuff. She sent me a photo this week of her progress!

While I was at their house on Saturday, my nephew Oisin asked to work on his Star Wars Crochet Kit!

We started by teaching him how to wind yarn and then did a little crochet. Oisin knows how to knit but wanted to learn to purl, so we did that too! It was a great afternoon!
