We discuss the implementation of school vouchers in Texas. Funding for private schools is unevenly distributed: some religious schools are funded, while others are not. While the governor had promised vouchers availability for rural schools, the majority of voucher payments are going to urban schools. Other problems have become evident.
We also touch on the Democratic primary for the US Senate. Talarico and Crockett are very competitive, though with different segments: Black, White, Hispanic.
Part 2:
We talk with Bill Curry and Robert Hennelly.
We discuss the Verizon cell outage, and how it shows the vulnerability of the US communications grid. There is no real regulation that requires a level of robustness.
We also talk about the nurses' strike in NYC, and how it is likely to affect other unions.
