Matty, like several young people in their early twenties, didn’t miss an invite to drink, use, and party. 
 
However, Matty quickly learned that he was unable to stop the party high. So, the party turned to daily use, using at work, stealing to chase the high, which resulted in bouts of homelessness, emerging past trauma issues, sex work, mental health issues, and a suicide attempt.
 
His goal is to offer his story in hopes to help others.

Hi, I’m your host, Dr. Mei-Li Hennen.  I have over 15 years in THE addiction and mental health field.  I have a Master’s degree in Counseling, and a PhD in clinical psychology. 

I’m a certified transformational coach and my passion is working with people who strive to redefine their lives in extraordinary ways - inspired by meaning, purpose, and recovery.

More importantly, I have had the privilege to work with and support diverse youth and adults suffering from addiction, mental health issues, homelessness, and those who are underserved.
