What gives us the power to overcome sin? Is it the threat of the law? The fear of the law has never had the power to stop us from breaking it. Think about it, does the fear of the law “thou shalt not steal” stop people everyday from taking what isn’t theirs? For many even the fear of the consequences of breaking the law isn’t enough to stop them from doing so (prison, community service, loss of property, loss of family or even loss of life in some cases). If the fear of the law doesn’t bring us the power to overcome sin, then what does?
