Congressman David Schweikert knows the math always wins. Trillions of dollars are spent every year on health care.
70% is paid for by you, as a taxpayer.
The math says this isn't sustainable. Congressman Schweikert will present what challenges the math presents.
And what can be done about it to crash the price of healthcare. The Congressman will also talk about the barriers to innovation (like laws).
Most media outlets or politicians don't want to talk about the complexities of healthcare spending, which is why we will on Equal Matters.
Thanks for joining us.
Hurricane Katrina happened 18-years ago.
I was there in New Orleans. Working for a radio station my team (and our partners) stayed behind to work.
The hurricane eventually crippled our ability to broadcast, leaving us in silence. Life changed quickly for us after that storm.
Three lessons I've learned.
1)No one is coming to save you
2)Be Adaptable
3)Make The Most Of It
Join in for some lessons and a few stories from covering Hurricane Katrina in New Orleans.
A career in radio broadcast isn't a normal journey. Often you have to move a lot, survive on little sleep, and get paid like dirt.

At 20 he sailed around the world in the US Navy on an aircraft carrier. He says carriers are like living in a 'kind of in a prison' with 6,000 people.
Justin's job on USS Carl Vinson was on the flight deck. Today, you'll hear from a man who had a first-hand view of America's best fighter jets as they launched combat missions.
He takes you on his journey through boot camp, working on fighter jets, to swimming in the Persian Gulf.
If you've ever wondered what life aboard an aircraft carrier was like, you'll find out today with Justin Cross.
I've always loved American history. Today, we are living in times that will be studied for years to come.

My younger brother Chris is moving from Massachusetts to Phoenix, AZ. We linked up with our Dad, Bob, in Maine and have been driving from there.
After a stop in Ft. Smith, Arkansas we talked about the journey across America so far.
Not many people have this opportunity to travel 3,000 miles in a car through 16 states. We feel incredibly fortunate.
This is a big move for Chris, who at 42 is making a massive life change. We talk about that. We also talk about Dad's journey in the US Navy in the Vietnam era.
He was stationed in Memphis (a city we stopped in briefly), California, and Japan.
Additionally, we've stopped in Pittsburgh, Cincinnati, and Nashville.
This is what a family conversation sounds like on our great American road trip.
Former President Donald Trump has been charged with four new counts in relation to the election.
Today, on Equal Matters, we'll explain the government's case.
We'll save the opinions for another day.
The case comes down to two alleged conspiracies.
The first is the appointment of 'alternate' or 'fake' Electors to cast votes for Trump in states that Biden won (7 states named in this indictment).
The second is within the Department of Justice. Trump and Co-conspirator #4 are alleged to have pushed the DOJ to say the election was fraudulent.
The third and fourth charges are related to obstructing and conspiring to obstruct the official Electoral College vote count in Congress.
Join Equal Matters for a quick overview of the four charges levied against the 45th President.
