  • 2. What is Positive Reinforcement (+R)?

This week's episode discusses the four quadrants of operant conditioning, positive/negative reinforcement/punishment (+R, -R, +P, -P). I delve into what each of the four means and what it looks like in horsemanship & training. I hope you find this episode useful and fun! Be sure to tune in next week for the episode where I'll be discussing the purpose of the clicker.

For more explanation on the quadrants, check out the glossary page https://www.equitheory.com/positive-reinforcement/glossary and the +R resource page https://www.equitheory.com/positive-reinforcement!

Let me know your thoughts & be sure to leave a positive review for me. Thanks for listening!

      • 1. Welcome to Equine in Theory!

Welcome! I hope that you guys are as excited as I am to embark on this new platform's journey. I couldn't be more thrilled to finally be doing my own podcast. I'm not sure of its future, but for now, I am here to share my journey as a horse trainer. Not in the traditional sense of the word, but instead the sense that every time I'm with my horses, I'm teaching them something new, and they are teaching me many "somethings new!" I hope you guys will tune in to each week's episode. I'm aiming for a new release every Tuesday to pair nicely with new YouTube releases every Monday. I can't wait to dive in! Let me know your thoughts & be sure to leave a positive review for me(:
