The country's biggest coal-fired power station has been given a lifeline with Origin Energy delaying the closure of its Eraring plant another two years.
The facility near Newcastle was to shut in August 2027 but the company said yesterday the extension to April 2029 will "support energy supply" in the transition to renewables.
