From the Metroparks...

Last December I read about Biggby's Barista of the Year being right here!

Anna Wincek at the Maumee location on the Trail.

“As somebody who has experienced a lot of hardship, I know that everybody else is going through just as much, so I want to make sure that the interaction that they have with me is a good one,” she said. “If it’s one good interaction for their entire day, at least they had that one good one.”

What an incredibly thoughtful and conscientious person! Anna is trying to make it back to back years as the BOTY so I jumped at the chance to have her on so you could consider visiting her and her team, and voting for her! DO THAT HERE!

Part of her win last year has her headed on the trip of a lifetime in just a few. Her first time out of the country will be to a bit of an obscure African locale.

I hope you enjoy our chat!

The Ronald McDonald House Charities annual Cork and Pork event is next Thursday.

8 vendors with tons of delicious BBQ and if you didn't see the title of this episode, SEVENTY FIVE HUNDRED DOLLAR WHISKY. It can be won next Thursday night. If I won would I drink it!?

ANYWAY, a quick preview of the event with Wendy from RMHC!

First, He Man is going to get beaten and bullied and it may affect future movies I would like to see get made COUGH COUGH Thundercats.

I've known her for years beginning with her time at NAMI, but Sonya Quinn is now with New Concepts. Some of her background, as well as a small preview of an upcoming mental health summit she's invited me to be a part of next month.

First, it's been mostly all RetroSkate, all the time. And that doesn't make for good podcast material.

Mudd City Football is a new youth city league with teams scattered around the city for kids to connect with.

First up, a miracle. The Battle of I75 has moved to the best day of the WEEK.

CAUTION BABY ON BOARD.

We're going to be quick today because Baby JJ is quite fussy while my friend Alona Matchenko is here for two causes. One, to spread the word about a prestigious grant Toledo Helps Ukraine received, and another resource drive her and her team are holding the first several Sundays of the summer.

She's back, but I'm sure if it's her second or third time. I know the first time she was here, she thought it was going to be a GOT YA interview. Me!? NEVER! Just GOT YA...doing fantastic things in our community.

This is back to back episodes of people truly doing live saving work. Vets on Friday was with Amanda Held, and now families with Christina Rodriguez from Mom's House.

When Amanda Held wants to visit, Amanda Held gets to visit!

Amanda is the creator of the life saving program HOOVES - horse guided healing intensives for veterans. One of those intensives just wrapped up, and next weekend Amanda and her team are hosting a bit of an open house event so you can see what I did a few years when I got to tour the HOOVES sanctuary. As always, exceptional mental health insight from Amanda. She's always growing in her journey and I come away with new tips for myself after each of our visits

First up, our online behavior has come to real life, and it's happening to quickly and too often.

Shannon Bova from Sunshine Communities returns her with her boss, CEO, Jason Abodeely, to talk about the org recently being featured on actor Andy Garcia's All Access program.

Also, this visit coincides with Jason announcing his departure from SC earlier this week.

Like my RetroSkate event on June 12th, Techledo is also part of the Watershed Weekend celebration at Glass City Metroparks (and surrounding areas). Let's see what's new, better and later with this year's iteration of this massive dance event with Doug Hinebaugh and Dennis Cox.
