Eric Roberts is the Man

HO HO HO! MERRY EVERYTHING! It's our FIRST ANNUAL Eric Roberts is the Man HOLIDAY SPECTACULAR featuring special guest (and guest host) Sarah Kurchak talking TWO seasonal Eric Roberts classics. First we dig into the Keith David-starring CHRISTMAS IN COMPTON, where Chistmas arrives with dollops of stereotypes and Eric Roberts as a sleazy music producer. We follow that up with Eric as a ROCK GOD (/w ridiculous wig!) in the redneck-scrooge modern classic ALL AMERICAN CHRISTMAS CAROL. Of course there's also plenty of CHEER and GOOD TIDINGS, as well as talk of pillow fighting, marathons, JESUS and lots more! End your year off right with US!

OMG! WTF! We’re back with more Eric Robertsy goodness and this time.. it’s personal! PERSONALLY AWESOME, as we’re covering the Sissy Spacek-starring romance/drama/horror(?) RAGGEDY MAN (/w Eric Roberts in sailor suit) and the 2014 slasher movie CAMP DREAD! A strange combo? Blame our awesome guest Justine Smith, who is a great writer, personality & person – and I’m not just saying that because she’s CANADIAN. Lots of news! LOTS OF LOVE! We talked about Doug’s lengthy interview about the Eric Roberts podcast, which can be found right here. http://www.ptbocanada.com/journal/2015/11/18/eric-roberts-podcast If you’re interested in the philosophy behind this ridiculous podcast, this is a good starting place. We discuss an article over at Electronic Urban Report entitled Marcus D. Spencer (Big Spence) Finds Role in ‘Fair Chase’. It’s a rather strangely written press release for an upcoming film featuring Miguel Nunez Jr., Tom Sizemore and Eric Roberts. Read it right here: http://www.eurweb.com/2015/11/marcus-d-spencer-big-spence-finds-role-in-fair-chase/ Then check out this HORRIBLE poster: College Humor is launching their new comedy Fatal Decision on Verizon’s mobile streaming service GO90. It’ll feature celebrity cameos from Geoffrey Arend, Jake Busey, MC Gainey, Christina Hendricks, Nathalie Kelley, Eric Roberts, Tom Sizemore, and Reginald Veljohnson. http://theinterrobang.com/college-humor-launches-scripted-comedy-on-verizons-free-mobile-streaming-service/ Break #1 –  “Raggedy Man Main Title Theme” by Jerry Goldsmith Break #2 – “Sunshne of Your Love” by Dread Zeppelin Break #3 – “Hello Muddah, Hello Faddah” by Alan Sherman Don’t forget to head over to iTunes to subscribe and rate the show. In the Eric Roberts podcast world, the people are represented by two separate, yet equally important groups: Our hosts, who have made a blood oath to carefully examine and discuss the works of actor Eric Roberts; and our guest, on this episode illustrator & cartoonist Brandon Bird, who has devoted his life to the study of the Law & Order franchise. These are their stories.

LISTEN and discover Brandon Bird's favorite Law & Order DA! Todd's favorite Street Fighter character! And the story of how an Eric Roberts lunchbox ended up in the MAN's hands! LOCK YOURSELF AWAY AND EXPERIENCE Eric Roberts is the Man Episode 14.

CALL IN SICK and SEND THE KIDS TO THE SITTERS, it's time for episode 13 of Eric Roberts is the Man - the #1 ranked Eric Roberts-related podcast IN THE WORLD. This time we've been coerced into watching Eric Robert's starmaking performance in 1978's KING OF THE GYPSIES, as well as the pilot for the sitcom LESS THAN PERFECT, and to help with this mammoth task we're joined by pop-culture writer, interviewer and KING OF RANDOM ROLES Will Harris, who has conversed with ER on multiple occasions. The article we reference, with quotes from the man himself, appeared here: http://www.examiner.com/article/interview-eric-roberts-raises-the-tension-tonight-s-episode-of-the-player Since we recorded NBC have reduced the number of episodes for THE PLAYER’s first season, so it’s likely not long for this world. It's a punky ROBERTS party! Episode 11 of ERITFM arrives kicking and screaming and packed to the gills with intense ER-related goodness. Our first film features Christopher Walken, faux-Elias Koteas, DANZIG and Eric Roberts as an ANGEL! How appropriate! It's THE PROPHECY II, and it's not bad. Film #2 stars Jake Busey, Crispin Glover, Jennifer Tilly and some of the worst Eric Roberts hair ever put on film. It's FAST SOFA from 2001, and responses are MIXED, which always makes for the best conversation. We're joined by the amazing writer Matthew Monagle, who tells us some BEHIND THE SCENES FAST SOFA INFO. Come for paunchy Chris Walken, stay for the nerdity. ERIC ROBERTS.

It's the episode THE MAN didn't want you to hear! Actually, Episode 10 of ERITFM is coming to you late because of technical difficulties (aka I screwed up the recording) but the wait is, uh, WORTH IT. This episode has it all: a #SPEEDBALL update, music from Dick Maloney, MICHAEL JACKSON, and, of course, Joe Millionaire. We're joined by Shock Cinema's Michael Sullivan, who brings his trademark wit - and awesome voice - to our discussion of the painful spoof MISS CASTAWAY AND THE ISLAND GIRLS and the extremely odd "comedy" WRONG COPS. Praise be to Eric Roberts, it's time to listent!

As always, check out ERIC ROBERTS IS THE MAN on Twitter, or come chat ER (or anything else) on our Facebook group.

We get plenty of requests here at the ERITFM ranch, but no film gets suggested to us more often than David DeCoteau’s talking animal masterpiece A TALKING CAT!?! But did you know that before A TALKING CAT!?! Eric Roberts also voiced a talking.. dog!?! Its the battle of the David DeCoteau-directed, Kristine DeBell-starring, Eric Roberts-voiced animals with A HALLOWEEN PUPPY facing off against A TALKING CAT!?! We needed to knock this one out of the park, so we recruited producer, film festival programmer and all-around movie guy Peter Kuplowsky to lend his voice – and expertise – to this deep digging discussion of DeCoteau. Grab your favorite pet and snuggle up in front of the podcast box, because it’s time for episode 9 of Eric Roberts is the Man. As always, check out ERIC ROBERTS IS THE MAN on Twitter, or come chat ER (or anything else) on our Facebook group.            There’s plenty more Peter Kuplowsky to enjoy out there! Follow him on Twitter @PeterKapow and, of course, keep your eyes out for his work at the Toronto International Film Festival and the Toronto After Dark Film Festival. And check out The Laser Blast Film Society! Some unusual news on this episode’s ROBERTS REPORT. Including: Here’s that Max von Sydow tweet about joining GAME OF THRONES. Remember, if Eric Roberts ends up on Game Of Thrones, you heard it here first! https://twitter.com/RealMaxVonSydow/status/628359857129803776 Is that even really Max von Sydow? We spoke about the new music video by “famous Russian pop singer” Geneva which features Eric Roberts as a knife thrower from a traveling circus.  You can read about the video here: http://thehollywoodtimes.net/2015/09/01/actor-eric-roberts-is-starring-in-the-new-music-video-you-knew-that-by-russian-singer-geneva/, and we’ll post it around once it actually appears. It sounds delightfully wacky. Don’t forget to watch the recent episode of ENCOUNTERS WITH ERIC AND ELIZA with guests Lucas and Sam Sam. Of course, we’ll have to cover this – and every other episode – eventually. But keep up on the latest! And we’ll continue to give you the latest news on our #SPEEDBALL watch. Music for this episode: Break #1 – “The Puppy Song” by Harry Nilsson Break #2 – “100 Ways To Love a Cat” by The Angry Grandpa Break #3 – “Kitty Cat Dance” by Steve Ibsen Don’t forget to head over to iTunes to subscribe and rate the show. SIX! SIX! SIX! THE NATURE OF THE BEAST! Yeah, we’re back, and this time.. it’s personal. Fueled by Eric Roberts following us on Twitter (and our inevitably cease & desist letter), Episode 8 finds us in a contemplative mood as we discuss 1995’s THE NATURE OF THE BEAST (along with its controversial director) and 2014 DOC HOLLIDAY’S REVENGE (aka STRANDED), which is only controversial for being absolutely terrible. We are joined by the luminescent Tonjia Atomic, who is really way too talented to be stuck talking about Eric Roberts movies for 90 minutes, yet here we are! This one is a little late, but it’s worth the wait. And you don’t want to miss what’s coming next! As always, check out ERIC ROBERTS IS THE MAN on Twitter, or come chat ER (or anything else) on our Facebook group. To keep up on the latest Tonjia Atomic news, head over to http://www.tonjiaatomic.com/ which will lead you to a bunch of social media goodness. Make yourself happy by checking out her latest film PLAIN DEVIL over on Amazon. As always, The Roberts Report was JAM PACKED. Discussed were: The teaser trailer for the upcoming HP Lovecraft-inspired film BLACK WAKE directed by Jeremiah Kipp. The film features Tom Sizemore, Nana Gouvea and – of course – Eric Roberts. And it just finished production! We also discussed an upcoming ER appearance in the TV show THE PLAYER starring Wesley Snipes as a former intelligence officer working as a security expert in Las Vegas. HOW WONDERFUL. And we talked briefly about the Bill Duke-directed Nat Turner biopic NAT TURNER: STORY OF A PROPHET featuring Keith David, Blair Underwood, Mike Epps and ERIC ROBERTS. Let’s hope the movie is better than this weird poster. Music for this episode: Break #1 – “The Number of the Beast” by Iron Maiden Break #2 – Music from the film TOMBSTONE composed by Bruce Broughton. Break #3 – “Doctor Doctor” by The Thompson Twins Don’t forget to head over to iTunes to subscribe and rate the show. If you like it.. tell a friend! It's a SUPER SPECIAL *BONUS* EPISODE of ERITFM featuring our very first INTERVIEW! We were recently contacted by Director Ben Stark and writer Jeremy Burgess about their new short film DEAD SATURDAY, which just happens to star... wait for it.. Eric Roberts! Of course, we wanted all the important - and not so important - details, so we've invited them onto the show to chat about how the film originated, their experiences with crowdfunding, and - of course - how ER got involved and what it was like to work with him. Both were extremely gracious and honest, and this was a ton of fun. CHECK IT OUT!
