Three is always inviting me to go deeper and unpack more and more of its layers. It pulls me into a wider and greater understanding.

Today Aishath Huda joins us to share her lifelong connection with water and how it has shaped her creative process and perception as an artist. In this conversation about art, nature, and experience, we explore the fluidity of more-than-human consciousness and the impact that abstracting water has on humanity and climate literacy.

Aishath Huda is a Chicago-based visual artist from the Maldives. She makes work that investigates the relationship between bodies and the environment in both the local and the ecological sense. Her most recent work addresses the many ways water is abstracted through ethics and aesthetics, how this affects climate literacy, and how climate literacy is connected to human and more-than-human relations.

Rebecca Magee is a teacher, experience designer and facilitator focused on the intersection of gender equity and climate justice. She’s continually learning and teaching others how to move through life at the pace of our bodies and our planet. As a founder of Sister Seasons, Rebecca guides women and menstruators to restore their well-being and our planets and partners with organizations who are seeking to empower menstruators to lead on climate without burning out.

Today, we welcome folk witch, astrologer + spirit worker Amaya Rourke to share her knowledge about how lunar cycles, fixed stars and the force of water shape our lives.

Amaya begins the episode with stories of ancient civilizations’ connection to the night sky and cosmic ocean. Then we reflect on the power of fluidity and surrender, and consider how moon cycles can guide and transform our lives. We close with a discussion of fixed stars and their capacity to change our relationship with astrology.

Amaya Rourke is an animist folk witch, astrologer, tarot reader, spirit worker, and folk herbalist. Her work guides others called to a wild witchcraft that straddles the seen and unseen worlds, traveling the moonlit and star studded crooked path of the bramble hedge. Rooted in historic folkways and updated for contemporary life, Amaya's praxis seeks to return to the interwoven cycles of the Moon, fixed stars, and living Earth. She has been a featured guest on many podcasts, a writer for limited edition grimoires, Moon planners, and astrology magazines; and is a seasoned workshop writer and facilitator.

Perdita Finn is the co-founder, with her husband Clark Strand, of the non-denominational international fellowship The Way of the Rose, which inspired their book The Way of the Rose: The Radical Path of the Divine Feminine Hidden in the Rosary. In addition to extensive study with Zen masters, priests,  and healers, she apprenticed with the psychic Susan Saxman, with whom she wrote The Reluctant Psychic. Finn now teaches popular workshops on Getting to Know the Dead, in which participants are empowered to activate the magic in their own lives with the help of their ancestors. She is the author of Take Back the Magic: Conversations with the Unseen World and lives with her family in the moss-filled shadows of the Catskill Mountains.

Gabriela is a writer, scholar and teacher of the mythic imagination, mysticism and ancient history. Her work stems from her decade-long studies with shamans and renunciants around the world, and is focused on the revival of the spiritual traditions in pre-patriarchal Europe. She teaches and offers distance healing in-person and online, and her writing and independent research can be found on her Substack ‘Under a Fig Tree’.
