Escape Diet Prison by Anne-Sophie Reinhardt episodes

  • What is Normal Eating?
When you finally let go of dieting and food rules, you create the space to embrace normal eating as a natural and freeing way to nourish yourself.
What Does Balanced Eating Look Like?
Eating naturally isn’t about strict rules or constant vigilance. It’s about finding a way to nourish your body that feels sustainable and free of judgment. Have you ever wondered:
How does food fit into life when it’s not the focus?
Can you enjoy chocolate and dessert without guilt?
What role do fruits and veggies play when eating intuitively?
If these questions resonate, you’re not alone. Many of us are on a journey to redefine our relationship with food.
How It Feels to Eat Naturally
Eating naturally is about flexibility. It means savoring a variety of foods, trusting your hunger signals, and letting go of shame around eating. Imagine being able to:
Feel at ease with your choices at mealtime.
Enjoy your favorite foods without second-guessing yourself.
    Stop thinking about food constantly.
This way of eating is rooted in self-trust and freedom, not fear or control.
Steps to a Healthier Mindset Around Food
In this episode of the Escape Diet Prison Podcast, we explore what it means to let go of rigid food rules and embrace a more flexible, joyful approach to eating. Here’s what you’ll learn:
How to reframe your thoughts around meals and snacks.
Practical tips for finding balance with indulgent and nutritious foods.
Personal stories from our community on breaking free from food guilt.
These steps are designed to help you reconnect with your body and its needs while fostering a sense of empowerment and peace.
    Embracing Freedom in Food Choices
Freedom doesn’t mean chaos. It means learning to trust yourself again. When you make peace with your eating habits, food becomes just one part of a fulfilling life—not the main focus. Whether it’s a salad or a slice of cake, you get to decide what feels good for you.

  • Respect Your Body Enough To Stop Dieting
If you don't respect your body, you don't respect yourself.
If you don't respect yourself, you don't respect your life.
If you don't respect your life, what do you respect?
Over the years, I've come to learn that every act of dieting is an act of disrespecting your body. Whenever you begin to restrict - whether that is through a new weight loss diet, counting calories, adding points or protein grams - you begin to take away your body's innate ability to take care of you.
And what is more disrespectful than that?
    I know, I know.
We've been taught to not listen to our bodies because they're supposedly stupid things that we can't rely on for a second.
Well, the truth is that if you can rely on one thing it is your very finely tuned body that works endlessly for you and your wellbeing - every second of every day.
And how do we express our gratitude? We diet...
And that has got to change.
In this episode of Escape Diet Prison, I share about the many ways in which you can respect your body AND yourself.
You'll see that by changing your perspective, coming to a place of deep peace, you'll not only heal your broken relationship with food, but you'll also begin to heal other areas of your life.
It's time to start respecting ourselves and our bodies again. It's time to up the respect levels of this world and as always: it starts with YOU.
    Enjoy this episode!
    Love and light,

  • I know that…
Don't tell me "I know that" but then complain about not HAVING what you want.
"I know that" are the 3 words I loathe the most - especially coming from prospective clients who hang out on my list for years and years and not make any progress.
Throw your scale out the window. You won't heal until you do.
    - I know that. But I still haven't done it. Why am I still obsessing over food?
Begin to drop into your body and start body acceptance here and NOW.
    - I know that. But I don't do it. Why do I still hate my body?
The more you restrict the more you'll binge.
    - I know that. But I still restrict because I need to lose weight. Why do I still binge every night and gain instead of lose weight?
Diets DO NOT work. 96 - 99 % of all people who've lost weight on a diet GAIN IT BACK within a year.
    - I know that. But I am still going to read this diet book and try to lose 10 pounds in the next 3 days. Why do I still feel miserable? And why does the weight come back?
The more you fight food the more you'll obsess over it.
    - I know that. But I still don't allow myself to eat what I want. Why do I still live in diet hell?
Are you a "I know that" kind of person?
Do you feel that no matter what you hear when it comes to healing your relationship with food and your body, you already know it and you can't be bothered hearing it again?
Do you hit unsubscribe whenever you hear a strategy over and over again because you know it but you also know that you haven't acted on it at least once?
Do you blame coaches, teachers, strategist for not helping you overcome overeating and body shame but you've never ever done a single step of all the advice you got?
If you're the one who says "I know that" ten times a day then no wonder you're still stuck overeating, binging and hating your body.
    [magicactionbox]
No wonder you are still at the place you were 5 years ago when you first began to follow anti-diet advice.
No wonder you're still unhappy, you're still unsuccessful, you're still spending your days behind the computer eating because you're bored, sad, stressed and wishing that the next miracle pill will finally get you out of your misery.
    No wonder....
You don't really know it until you've DONE it. And not just once but for as long as it takes until you're done.
So, instead of saying I know that throwing away my scale is a super important step towards inner healing, THROW IT AWAY.
Instead of saying I know that dropping into my body will help me to heal my awful body image, just DO IT.
Instead of saying I know that I have to stop restricting, STOP restricting.
Instead of saying I know that diets don't work but still trying a new one every week, STOP LOOKING FOR NEW DIETS.
Instead of saying I know that the answer to my problems is to stop fighting food, STOP FIGHTING.
Yes, FEEL your fear (there's nothing wrong with it), heal your pain and take the action you know will get you to the place of deep body-confidence and complete freedom from food.
    You, my love, deserve it.

  • Body Image and Motherhood: Embracing Change with Love and Respect
Motherhood changes everything—your schedule, your priorities, your emotions, and yes, your body image. Suddenly, you’re responsible for another human being who depends entirely on you. And while you’re juggling all the responsibilities of being a mom, your body undergoes monumental changes that can leave you feeling disoriented.
From pregnancy to breastfeeding, sleepless nights, and the mental and emotional toll of motherhood, your body is constantly evolving. But instead of focusing on what your body looks like, it’s time to appreciate what it does.
    Body Image Struggles in Motherhood
Society often sends a cruel message to mothers: bounce back immediately. The post-baby body pressure is relentless. Celebrities flaunt their perfect physiques weeks after giving birth, making it harder for everyday moms to feel okay about their post-baby bodies.
But let’s be real: those starlets have personal trainers, private chefs, and an army of support that most of us don’t. Comparing yourself to them only adds unnecessary guilt and shame.
Shifting the Focus: Healthy Body Image in Motherhood
How can we rise above the unrealistic standards and cultivate a healthy body image in motherhood—not just for ourselves but also for our children?
Appreciate What Your Body Can Do
Your body has performed incredible feats: growing a baby, giving birth, and nurturing life. Instead of criticizing it for what it looks like, celebrate its strength, resilience, and capabilities.
    Reject Harmful Messaging
Unfollow social media accounts, skip the “get your body back” campaigns, and ignore the toxic diet culture that preys on postpartum moms. Focus on self-care instead.
    Model Positive Body Image
As a mom, you are a role model for your children. By prioritizing body respect over weight loss, you teach them to value their bodies for what they do rather than how they look.
The Challenges of Pregnancy and Postpartum
During pregnancy, it’s easy to fall into the trap of fearing weight gain. I’ve met women who ate dangerously little to avoid gaining weight, risking their baby’s health in the process. This fear-driven mindset must stop.
After giving birth, your body is still recovering. You may look pregnant days or even weeks after delivery—and that’s normal. Respect the process your body has gone through and resist the urge to compare yourself to others.
    Breastfeeding and Body Image
Breastfeeding presents its own challenges, from constant hunger to body changes. Instead of focusing on weight loss, prioritize nourishing yourself so you can take care of your baby. Feeding another human being with your body is an incredible achievement—celebrate it.
    Navigating Stress and Change
Motherhood is stressful, and your body may need more food and rest to cope. Denying yourself nourishment or pushing yourself too hard won’t serve you or your child.
Instead, embrace the changes and give yourself grace:
Take walks with your baby instead of hitting the gym.
Enjoy that extra piece of chocolate without guilt.
Accept that your body will evolve as your motherhood journey continues.
Body Image and Self-Care Tips for Moms
Focus on Quality: Eat nutritious foods, but don’t stress about perfection.
Move with Joy: Find activities you enjoy, like dancing or walking, rather than punishing workouts.
Challenge Unrealistic Standards: Recognize that the images in magazines or on social media don’t reflect reality.
Prioritize Rest: Sleep whenever you can. Rest is essential for both your mental and physical health.
Be Kind to Yourself: Treat your body with the same care and compassion you’d show a friend.
A Healthy Body Image as a Legacy
Your body image doesn’t just affect you—it impacts your children and future generations. By healing your relationship with your body, you set a powerful example for your kids. They’ll learn to value themselves for who they are, not what they look like.

  • Shame, Fear & Complete Vulnerability
    Shame. Fear. Guilt. Vulnerability.
These are the 4 pillars that hold most of us back from healing.
These are the things nobody really wants to talk about.
These are the things that we ALL struggle with.
I recorded a VERY off-the-cuff episode of Escape Diet Prison while I was walking around downtown Toronto on Sunday about these issues.
    Enjoy!

  • Why dieting is nothing but a major distraction from your life
If you've been dieting for a while, you know that dieting can take over your entire life. It's easy to begin thinking about food and your body from the moment you open your eyes and don't stop obsessing about it until you go to bed.
You probably also know that whenever you diet, dreaming about food and eating isn't unheard of at all.
This obsession with your diet serves a real, not quite unimportant purpose: it distracts your from your life.
    Dieting distracts you from work.
    Dieting distracts you from life.
    Dieting distracts you from relationships.
And it distracts your from the present.
Dieting keeps you living for the future or morning your past. It makes you feel like shit right now while you wait to feel sexy, healthy and whole in years to come.
Dieting – at best – keeps you small and - at worst - has the power to ruin your life.
If you're in this place of feeling overwhelmed by your need to change your body while feeling 100% stuck in the life you live now, listen to this episode.
Because in this latest episode of Escape Diet Prison, I'll share 4 strategies on how to stop making dieting your life's purpose and how to really being taking responsibility for yourself, your present and your future.
    Strategy #1: Slow down
Slow down and begin to really appreciate where you are.
When you slow down, you'll begin to become aware of all the ways you're using food to sabotage yourself and your life. Slowing down is a lifestyle and not something you do once, so commit to this practice and - step by step - see the multi-layered purpose that dieting has for you.
    Strategy #2: Face your truth
What's not working for you right now? Why are you dieting? What are you trying to hide from?
If you're not living your truth, you obviously need something to take the pain away. But dieting won't give you what you are really longing for. You must make chances in relation to all the things that are working against you in your life to find happiness, love and compassion for yourself.
    [magicactionbox]
    Strategy #3: Practice being authentic
    Who are you really?
Are you living your most authentic life or are you constantly pretending to be someone you're not?
Most of us are scared of being our most vulnerable authentic selves. We don't want to be rejected, we don't want to be dissed. We all want to be loved and thus we pretend to be super likeable, agreeable, sweet. While others may like us, we begin to loath ourselves and use all kinds of crappy ways to deal with the mental stress of not being who we are.
It's time to learn how to be authentic, own your personality, your beliefs and your soul. The sooner you begin, the better.
Strategy #4: Figure out what lights you up
Do you know what really fires you up? Do you ever do anything that fires you up or does your life consist of an endless battle doing things you truly dislike?
Tapping into your life force is essential for living a full life and for getting out of the diet prison you've voluntarily locked yourself in.
Do what you LOVE. Yes, you can. Yes, you deserve to. And yes, you must - if you want to heal deeply and check back in to life and your body.
