  • 017 Your Life Your Success – How to Pick Yourself Up When You’re Feeling Down
Source: ohsobeautifulpaper.com via Alula on Pinterest

As I wrote about in my blog post "Unraveling", I have been feeling down lately. I didn't know why until I dug deeper and saw a few patterns that were unhealthy and kept me stuck.
I know I'm not alone with the struggle of feeling down and needing a break from life, especially during this time of the year.
That's why I thought of a few tips and tricks to make us feel better, happier and more fulfilled.
     Have an at-home Spa Day.
Paint your nails in bright colors, pluck your eyebrows, take a long, hot bath and shave your legs, light candles and put on calming music, read a book, light incense and meditate, massage yourself or prepare your own facial mask like this Honey & Lemon Face Mask.
Gather some friends for a “self-pity-part”, but don’t do it alone.
Order pizza and drink some wine, watch a rom-com and laugh at the absurdity of it all, play a board game if you’re into that, just talk about your life and your dreams.
Go for  for a walk or run.
Moving always helps. Being outside, marveling at nature and moving your body will get your creative juices going again and it’ll put your life, your problems in perspective.
Rock out to your favorite music.
Play your favorite dance tunes, turn the music on as loud as you can and let all the frustration, the hurt, the anger and the pain go.
    Travel.
If it is possible, take a trip. Get out of your city for a few days or weeks. Depending on your budget, go to an exotic, warm place or explore your “neighborhood” in a different way. You never know if you’ll end up falling in love with the area only a couple of hours from your house.
    Start something new.
Plan a new project, start a new hobby, learn a new language.
Do something that excites you and motivates you and gives you something to look forward to again.
    Meditate and eliminate.
What’s causing you to feel so down? A job? A friendship? Your unhealthy way of living? Try to meditate on it and then eliminate the stress factors if possible. Or come up with creative ways how you can let go of some stress in these areas.
For me, it was the routine that I needed to change and I needed a new challenge, so I created a new course: Write Your Way to Body Love
Read “Feeling good when Life is Hard” by Marthe Hagen.
Marthe blogs at thefreedomexperiment.com (check her out!). I love her and her book. It's brilliant, it's thoughtful, it's calming and it'll help.
Take the focus off of you and do random acts of kindness.
For example, you can participate in Operation Beautiful and let others know how truly gorgeous they are. Donate to a cause you believe in, support an artist or a change maker or help a friend or stranger out. Pay someone a compliment or send flowers. The possibilities are endless.
    Remember you’re not alone.
Shoot me an email at [email protected] and we’ll talk.

Bianca shares how she find her way into pursuing her dream of being a storyteller instead of following her parents' wishes.
She talks about the reason for starting her business and how she helps others create amazing videos to promote, engage and capture the audience's attention.
On top of that, we talk about why it is we love people with flaws, how to get on a McDonald's commercial, why you can't change people's mind and how to make your own almond mind.
Her book recommendations: The Power of Myth by Joseph Campbell
Fire Starter Sessions by Danielle Laporte
    Desire Map by Danielle Laporte
Bianca Filoteo is the founder of Video For Shy People, where she helps video-hesitant entrepreneurs fall in love with online video. • 015 Your Life Your Success – 10 Sentences We Need to Ban from Our Vocabulary Right NOW
We don't even notice how many limiting and belittling lies we tell ourselves all day long. Find out how you can change your life by eradicating these lies in this week's episode of Your Life Your Success.
    1. I am not deserving.
As Marianna Williamson says: Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us.' We ask ourselves, Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, and fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be.
The excuse of not being worthy just shows that you're scared and that's OK. Still, you are deserving of everything you dream of. Don't let this lie hold you back.
    2. I’m not … enough.
I’m not good enough, smart enough, pretty enough, educated enough, rich, disciplined enough.
This is the most common lie we tell ourselves. We compare, we play small, we hold back because we believe that there's someone better and we're less than. Again, it's a brutal lie.
You are enough simply because you are.
    3. It’ll never happen to me.
If you think that why, it won’t. I used to think that way (and still do way too often) and life never failed to make this prediction come true. However, if you choose to be open to the possibility that it (whatever that it may be) will and can come true, you will create a whole new energy that will help to make your dream a reality.
    4. If only...
If only circumstances were different. If only my upbringing was different.
If only these beliefs/sentences were not just lame excuses!
    5. I don’t have the time.
Guess what, we all have the same amount of time. It’s up to you to choose what you do with your time. You have 168 hours in a week. Let’s say you sleep 7 hours (we’re talking ideal here), then you have 119 hours left. You work 40 hours a week, that’s 79 hours you have to chase your dream.
    6. I don’t have the money.
Educating yourself isn’t expensive. After all, we have the Internet, right?
Get creative, think outside the box and you'll find plenty of ways to make your chosen lifestyle a reality.
    7. I don’t know how.
Marie Forleo says: Everything is figureoutable.
If you truly desire something, you'll make it happen. You will learn everything there is to learn because you yearn to get to where you want to go. That's how I did it with The Ultimate Guide to a Healthy Body Image, my first book, and that's how millions of others are doing it with their respective dreams.
    8. I must have the love and approval of others.
This can be related to you chasing your dreams or simply believing you can find the man of your dreams. No, you don't. The only permission you need is yours.
    9. To be loved, I must change into someone I’m not.
Or I must agree to everything others say. Surely, they’d leave my side if I stood up for me and told them what I really mean, right?
Wrong. People will respect you for sticking up for yourself and having an opinion, having your own values and your own mind. If they don't, they don't deserve to be in your life.
    10. I’m ugly and fat and that’s why I can’t play a bigger game.
Your looks have nothing to do with what you can or can't achieve in life. It's all about your inner attitude and your confidence. So, don't use your dislike for your body as an excuse not to take action.

  • 012 Your Life Your Success – 7 Instant Self-Esteem Boosters
Are you struggling with your self-esteem?
Are you standing in your own way of loving yourself, believing in yourself and making drastic changes in your life?
I think we all are, but there are a few things that we can all do to boost our self-esteem. Here are a few tips that'll help you feel more confident in yourself.
    1. Smile at yourself more often.
Smile at your reflection in the mirror, shop windows or simply smile at yourself while walking around. The more you smile at yourself the better. It will not only improve your mood, but it will also help you feel more confidence in yourself and your abilities.
If you want to go a step further, spend some time with a friend, sibling or partner who can make you belly laugh for minutes.
I can do that with my sister and whenever we're together, that's when I'm the most authentic me. I don't worry about the way I look when I laugh so hard that I can't breathe anymore. I don't feel ashamed of my loud and weird-sounding noise, I am confident and free.
    2. Walk faster, sit straight, keep your head held high.
Posture makes a huge difference in the way you feel about yourself.
Observe your posture right now: do your shoulders hang? Do you look on the floor? do you lay in your chair?
How does that make you feel? Empowered? Strong? Confident?
I bet not. So, sit up straight, pull your shoulders back and hold your head high. Better?
Also, when you walk, don't just take a stroll, but walk as if you are going somewhere. Because you are! You are walking toward a bright future. So, walk fast and see how that changes your attitude.
    3. No more comparisons.
We're always comparing and thinking things like "she's better than me.", "she's thinner than me", "she's more successful than me". And we instantly jump to self-loathing, right?
Comparisons only hurt you. They're always destructive.
Try to stop. Set yourself a challenge to stop wasting time on thinking about others and instead stay with yourself.
    4. Dress nicely.
You don't have to walk around in Marc Jacobs shoes and Gucci dresses, but dress in clothes that make you feel valuable, pretty, fierce or sharp.
For extra credit, put on some nice lingerie and see how sexy that makes you feel.
    5. Look what you’ve already achieved.
Create a list of all the big and tiny things you have achieved in your life. Coming up with a list of 500 things should not be hard.
    6. Recognize and embrace your positive qualities.
You have so many amazing qualities already. Write them down and celebrate every single one of them. If you can't think of any, ask your family or friends and you'll be amazed at what you'll hear.
    7. Believe in your own worth.
You are worthy because you are. [Click to tweet]
Do I have to say more? :)

  • 010 Your Life Your Success – 10 Tips to Being Unforgettable
010 Your Life Your Success - 10 Tips to Being Unforgettable and a Recap of #NMX - goo.gl/1bHQr via @amindmedia
    — Anne-Sophie (@aMINDmedia) January 10, 2013
I just returned from NMX 2013 in Las Vegas and I was a bit disappointed in myself for not being my most energetic, most healthy me. I had gotten a horrible eye infection on the flight to Vegas and I felt a bit under the weather during the entire event; definitely not the best circumstances to make people remember me in the most positive way.
But how do you actually network in such a way that people will not forget who you are, even if they've met hundreds of people in only a couple of days?
In this episode of Your Life Your Success, I share 10 steps on how you can become a highly successful networker and make a ridiculously amazing impact on people's lives.
With these 10 tips, nobody will ever forget you and lose you in the crowds.
Get plenty of sleep before the conference. The less sleep you get, the less likely you'll make the conference a huge success. Come to the event refreshed, relaxed and energized by giving yourself plenty of sleep at least a week before the conference starts.
Prepare. Find out details about the event. Take a look at their online presence and forums to learn more and connect with others. Take a look at the speakers and see who you'd love to talk to.
If you're shy, reach out to others on the web before and make a few dates.
Give yourself breaks. It's OK to spend some time on your own, take a walk, relax or even get a massage. You'll come back rejuvenated and ready to give it your all.
Leave the notebook and gadgets at home. This'll give you the opportunity to connect for real and will take away the temptation to check Twitter "just one more time".
Smile. The more you smile at yourself and others, the better.
Don't go into a conversation with an agenda and instead take it as it comes. Have fun talking to people about anything and nothing instead of trying to foce the conversation in a certain direction.
Be curious about others and don't push yourself on others and instead ask more questions. The more you get to know about people the better. Shine a light on their personality, their hobbies and passions and show a real interest in who they are and what they're all about.
Be yourself. Don't try to pretend to be someone else in order to be liked or because you believe that your most natural you is not good enough. People deserve to see and talk to the real you, so don't put on a mask or hide behind a curtain. Show, who you really are.
Breathe. In the end, it's not as serious as we often make it out to be. So, sit back, relax a bit and enjoy yourself.
