Tina is an Orem, Utah native. She did some backpacking and hiking in college, but got busy with life and raising a family of nine kids, until around the age of 50, when the inspiration to get outdoors struck again and has been a huge part of her life ever since.

He later returned to Korea as an LDS missionary. Shortly after returning his mother passed away from ALS.
