July 24, 2019 Echo Fox Forced to Sell LCS Spot to Kroenke Sports and Entertainment
The Echo Fox controvery has come to a sad end. Rick Fox, the former Laker and actor who became an esports ambassador, was forced to sell his crown jewel in an LCS spot after the company was unable to remove allegedly racist shareholder Amit Raizada.
The spot was sold for $30 million to Kroenke Sports and Entertainment. That gives Stan Kroenke arguably the most expansive sports/esports holdings of any person in the world as he now he owns teams in the NFL, NBA, Premiere League, OWL and LCS.

The feud between the Fortnite World Cup and Dota 2's The International has come to a decision, at least for 2019. An influx of support from the Dota 2 community has pushed the TI prize pool over $30 million dollars for the first time ever.
That tops the Fortnite World Cup and keeps Dota 2 in the top spot they have occupated throughout the last decade.

It's Nadeshot's world, we're just living in it. The former Call of Duty pro turned esports mogul is raising money left and right for his esports organization 100 Thieves. In the last year the company has brought on Drake as an investor, raised $60 million, had success in various games and become a staple in the streetwear fashion industry.
The new $35 million funding round will be used to fund a new LA headquareters including a retail storefront.

July 16, 2019 Overwatch League Announces How They Will Move Forward With Geo-Localization
The OWL is an important experiment for esports. The league is trying to take the traditional sports city-based franchise model and apply it to esports. The goal was to have teams play in their home cities by 2020. Today, we got the next step in that plan.
While they aren't moving to a true home and away set up, the OWL will be hosting a variety of Homestand Weekends in each city. There will be two held at once and half the league will be playing in these new locations each week. The goal is to determine the market demand for the OWL in each city.
