Amid favorable global cues, key equity indices reversed early losses and hit fresh 52-week highs on Tuesday led by banking, auto and financial stocks.

The 30-share Sensex ended 171 points lower at 61,624, while its broader peer, Nifty50, settled at 18,329.

Among Sensex stocks, HDFC, HDFC Bank, Infosys, Tech Mahindra, HCL Tech, TCS and Wipro were the top gainers in today’s trading session, rising around 3-5.5%. Tata Steel, Reliance, L&T, Bajaj Finance, Axis Bank and Bajaj FInserv also ended with gains.
