  • Ecclesiastes 3:1-15
God has created and determined that there be different seasons in our lives as we journey towards eternity. Wisdom would say: recognize that where you're currently at in life is only a season, and the next season is about to dawn. Thankfully, (for the Christian) God is the one controlling and shifting the seasons of our world and our personal lives. We would be helped to joyfully submit our wills to his, and our lives to his providence and purposes.

  • Ecclesiastes 2
Can pleasure save us from the meaninglessness and boringness of life? Is life about getting as much out of created things as possible? Where can we find real satisfaction? We were made to enjoy God ultimately. Seeking to get from what God has made what only God can give is an exercise in frustaration or a chasing after the wind. This message was originally preached at the Penn Hills Alliance Church.

  • Philippians 4:14-23
In these last verses of Philippians Paul gives thanks for God for the Philippian church's generous monetary gifts to him through the years. This money was used by Paul for survival as he went about the Roman empire preaching the gospel and planting churches. The astonishing revelation of these verses is that God will reward or return with interest the money given to Paul (and as we give to gosepl ministry) for this gospel ministry. This is what Jesus called storing up treasure for yourself where moth and rust do not destroy and where thieves do not break in and steal.

  • Philippians 4:10-13
In this message, Justin Coaxum shows (through Paul's words) how we as Christians can endure anything God providentially brings or allows into our daily lives. We can be satisfied, being full or hungry, having little or a lot, feeling pain or feeling great, having our expectations met or unmet. We live out our lives in the power of being united to Jesus Christ who gives us strength by his Spirit.

  • Philippians 4:8-9
The Apostle Paul is here giving us a helpful mental grid, or, a way to view the world with a positive lens. This is much more than the power of positive thinking, this is the Word of God; this is God's revealed will that we are to by grace live out. May God help us to think about what is true, honorable, just, pure, lovely, commendable, excellent, and praiseworthy, to meditate on these things.

  • Philippians 4:1-9
In this message, Vincent Geramita shows how the entire letter to the Philippian church has been building to this point. Paul wants Euodia and Syntyche to "agree in the Lord" and for the church to be unified. He gives a timeless remedy against anxiety and gives a positive list of areas of meditation.

  • Philippians 3:17-21
In these few verses, Paul contrasts what the mindset on the world and what a mindset on the Christian's heavenly citizenship looks like. We must, as Christians recognize that our hope is not rooted in this current political system or it's hopes and promises.

  • Philippians 3:12-16
In this message, Eddie Jones explains Paul's inward psychology as he progresses day by day in becoming more like Jesus. One of the great secrets to forward movement in our Christian walk is to not look backward, either at failures or victories. We must always be looking forward, regardless of whatever upsets we must keep a forward movement attitude. We want to hear from God: "Well done, good and faithful servant!"
