  • Are The Five Points Of Calvinism Biblical? Pt. 2
The study of Biblical salvation or soteriology is often met with very high negative emotions. The reason for this phenomenon is we are dealing with questions of eternal reality and significance. In addition, we don't want God to be seen (in any sense) as being responsible for any human being's ultimate eternal suffering. The Bible is clear in it's teaching on what God has done from eternity-past through to eternity-future to save his people from their sin. We pray you will be helped in your Biblical understanding of salvation and as a result, rest in the Lord of salvation!

  • Are The Five Points Of Calvinism Biblical? Pt. 1
Anyone who has been a Christian for some time has heard of John Calvin and mainly of his view of predestination/election. What this message seeks to answer is: what are the five points of Calvinism? What is the history of the five points? Does the bible teach total depravity? And, how does total depravity relate to the gospel? This is the first of two messages biblically grounding the five points of Calvanism.

  • Is Church Membership Biblical?
If there is no explicit command in the Bible to "commit to a local church in membership," then why do so many churches have a church membership process? Is church membership essential for growth as a disciple of Jesus? What does church membership even mean and what is the function? These and many more questions will be answered in this message on church membership.

Does God have more than one will? Do human beings have the freedom to make real choices that have definite effects on the world? We touch on all these questions and more in this message on God's sovereignty and human responcibility.

  • In View Of God's Mercy
Romans 12:1 instructs Christians to offer their lives (their whole selves) as living sacrifices to God's glory and his purposes. In this message, Vince Geramita gives us Old Testament grounding for offering sacrifices and shows how we (as Christians) must, in view of the ultimate sacrifice, make daily sacrifices for God's glory, others good, and our eternal reward.

  • Luke 2:1-21
The birth of Jesus was not an insignificant, trivial, non-essential event in human history. Rather, the birth of Jesus would fulfill and accomplish all that our first human father (Adam) failed to accomplish: Complete obedience to God, motivated by love. Jesus would not only accomplish this mission in the positive but also in negative: he would (on the cross) pay the full price for all the sins of all those who would turn from their sin and trust in him for forgiveness. Surrendering their lives over to him for his purposes in response as he surrendered his life for theirs. By this, enabling us to know and love God by means of the Holy Spirit coming to live inside of his people, bodily.

  • Luke 1:57-80
The birth of John the baptizer is a major event in redemptive history. John is the last of the old covenant prophets (not including Jesus as the greatest and fulfillment of these prophets, Deuteronomy 18:18) and the greatest of these old covenant prophets in that he physically pointed to Jesus as the Lamb of God who takes away the sins of the world. We learn that John was raised up by God as the forerunner to Israel's true messiah. John fulfilled his mission by pointing to Jesus and preparing God's people by making a straight path for him to come (Isaiah 40:3-5).

  • Luke 1:26-55
The birth of Jesus was anticipated all throughout the old testament prophets as the son of David and the Jewish messiah. No one expected the savior to be God himself, come to save his people. Furthermore, no one expected the messiah to be born to a young, poor, virgin girl from Nazareth. God often moves in the world in very mysterious, hidden ways; thankfully God has given us the scriptures that reveal God and his ways to us.

  • Luke 1:1-25
Advent means awaiting the arrival of something. For Christians (and especially during this season of Advent) we are celebrating the arrival of our Savior Jesus Christ and awaiting his second coming. In the first two chapters of Luke, we encounter a graphic and compelling narrative with multiple characters coming together to fulfill what was written about thousands of years before any of these events took place.
