To truly outflow to our family, we must first fill up with the love and grace of God. We learn how to love from God himself. It is a joy to spend time with family, but to really outflow, we need to intentionalize our time with family and let Jesus shine through in our holiday traditions.

Our series called "Outflow" is about serving. However, our first act of faith is not towards people, but instead towards our God who has filled us up.

This is the introduciton sermon for our new series called Outflow. We will be looking at our gifts from God. God gives us gifts with expections. These expectations are not burdens, but instead, he gives these to us so that we can fully enjoy the gifts together.

Isaiah was blessed to be able to share many prophesies about the coming Messiah. Isaiah 49: 1-6 is one of those prophesies. Here the Messiah explains that he will be salvation for all peoples of the earth.

Daniel is a hero because he finds his strength in the coming Savior. He found the strength to honor the Lord in the big things (like when his life was threatened), but also in the small everyday things. We too find our strength in the Savior who has come and lived a perfect life in our place.

Hannah is an amazing woman who is often overshadowed by her equally amazing son. Yet, in her brief mention in Scripture, we get to witness her pain, her prayer, the Lord’s deliverance and finally her sacrificial offering

We have had a great chance to look at a number of heroes: Joshua, Ezekiel, Samson. One wonders after a read of the book of Jonah if Jonah is really a hero at all. This week we see how our merciful God used even Jonah's defiance to change many lives.

Joseph is truly a hero of the Old Testament. Not only does he serve God in all circumstances, but his life is exemplified by his ability to forgive. How does he do it? In the end, it is a matter of perspective.

Joshua had a chance to witness the miracles of the Exodus. Samson had his own feats of strength to behold. But God, well, asked Ezekiel to do some unusual things for the sake of God's people. What makes Ezekiel a hero? He is not a hero because of glamorous miracles. No, he is a hero because God called him to a difficult ministry and he does it.

The life of Samson resembles more of rock star than an Old Testament hero. If his name was not included in the list of the heroes of faith in Hebrews chapter 11, we may even wonder about his faith. For Samson, the worst thing in his life turns out to be the best thing in his life. In the low of his life, he prays, “O Sovereign LORD, remember me.”
