For this episode of Eternal Sleepover we sat in fluffy, white dressing gowns that belonged to Lotte Hotel in Busan and questioned everything we’ve ever known. Documenting our experiences 5,000 miles from London, no TikTok videos, tourist blogs or Instagram posts could’ve prepared us for what South Korea was going to be like. We ate really, really, really good Kimchi. Giorgia got botox. Lauren got a tattoo. We shopped. We Olive Younged. We laughed. We Tanghulued. We had the best bbq of our lives and we cried when we left.

Welcome back (suh)limes - our health is restored and it's time for another episode of Eternal Sleepover. The coolest, healthiest and funnest way to get around is no longer running, or a hot girl walk, or hiring a supercar for the day - it's cycling. We know this isn't new information for anyone who is already an avid lover of all things on two wheels, but this discovery helped form new connections and neural pathways in our brains. It was like someone turning a lightbulb on in a dark room, transforming how we see London and how we see ourselves. Lime, HumanForest, Tier, Dott, Santander or even grabbing a bike from Facebook marketplace is the way to get around. Cycling on the quiet backstreets and feeling the breeze in our hair is a high we've been search for our whole lives and celebrities and cool kids agree, with bikes (especially Limes) cropping up in music videos, magazine covers and in the background of influencer Instagram posts.

Pine Grove shuffle. Alex G. Title Fight. She wanted more than me. Remixes of Change (in The House of Flies). Cursed forever and sleeping on a twin sized mattress. 

Emo, hardcore, nu-metal, shoegaze and experimental rock has found legs on social media as Gen-Z soundtrack their lives with the hollow guitar riffs of yesteryear. Reaching into the archives and picking out the some of the best songs that we listened to when bands like Touche Amore, La Dispute, Title Fight, Joyce Manor and Tigers Jaw were still all making albums that tore us to pieces, join us us we chat (semi deliriously) about why the emo revival is happening now.

Once we’d finished laughing at the name of this podcast, things got serious. How do you actually make friends beyond the realms of work, university or living with people? Because we don’t know… at all. Without the confines of these familiar spaces, we’re a little lost and confused. From chatting to people at parties to complimenting other girlies on their outfits, the struggle to make friends in the real world is very real. If someone said we could erase our memories to reread ACOTAR for the first time, and all we had to do was sell our kidneys tomorrow, we would do it. Forever chasing the high that spilled from the pages of those books, we frequently yoyo in between Waterstones, Foyles and independent bookstores to try and find the next series to fill the Rhysand shaped holes in our hearts. Now avid (sort of) readers on the tube, perched in cafes drinking overpriced coffee or at the beach (location permitting) dodging the guy with a basket of coconut, we’re hoarders of books, lovers of literature and want to share our favourite pastime with you: reading.
