As Tumblr alumni who would stay up all night in their teens looking at morbid pictures (Giorgia) and reading badly written smut (Lauren) the microblogging site founded in 2007 helped form part of the common ground we built our friendship on (wow, profound). Though only a slither of what it used to be (ad free, full of p0rn, and a community of like minded creative people who were unified by their disinterest in the real world) the modern Tumblr still offers users a social media space with anonymity away from the hustle and bustle of other platforms… just now behind a paywall.
