A vivid picture of the earth before the return of the Lord Jesus, “the Day of the Lord”. No light, no food, no water, and no life.

Joel describes the condition on earth leading up to the day of the Lord. We see the absence of God’s presence and blessings. Only sorry and despair are left. The only advice to man is to “cry out to the Lord”. As with us today, only God’s presence in our lives can turn disaster into victory.

Joel describes a devastation beyond anything anyone had ever seen. The total absence of God and his blessings.

What do you do when disaster comes? The book of Joel reminds us that it’s not about, “oh woe is me”, but “how great is he”.

It’s all God’s timing. Be steadfast in prayer - it’s the most important thing you can do.

Don’t take your time or treasure for granted. It’s all 100% dependent on Him.

Your relationship with God means everything to Him. Prayer should mean everything to us.
