One of our regular presenters, Mike Derrick, just returned from a month-long hike in France with his wife, Kathy Derrick. They’re both with us today to share stories and information about their month-long hike on the "Via Podiensis" in France. (It's one of the Caminos de Santiago.)

Today we pivot slightly to talk about a growing concern in American society--Phishing, Smishing, and Vishing. That is, online scams involving email (phishing), texting (smishing), and voice or telephone (vishing). They're not only unethical, they're downright illegal.

Scamming incidents are on the rise and they're getting more sophisticated, leaving thousands of victims in their wake. This episode provides information on three important areas:

Today we're talking about a subject I never really considered until I heard a lengthy discussion about it on the radio before Christmas. That is, the question of picking visitors up at the airport and giving them a lift to the airport to catch a flight. To whom do you give rides and when do you suggest they take a taxi or an Uber? Perhaps you've never even thought about this, but giving it some consideration may make you a more thoughtful guest in the future.
