Evangel Assembly of God Church, Kansas City

Special Guest Tim Gustafson

Pastor Lisa wraps up our 40 Days in the Word campaign by sharing how we can continue on the path towards making the Word of God the foundation for our lives. This message incorporates the weekly memory verses, explains why these verses were selected, and outlines a pattern of actions we can take to make sure we are working towards becoming men and women of the Word.

Have you ever been angered when you hear someone misinterpret Scripture or twist the Bible's words in order to make Christianity look bad? In this message, Pastor Todd Fleury shares some of the dangerous errors people make in interpreting Scripture and methods we can use to properly discover the true meaning of God's Word and apply it in our lives.

In this message, Pastor Jason, Pastor Lisa, and Pastor Todd break down the process of Bible study and personal application to help everyone from the newest studier to the most experienced get the most out of their Bible reading.

Rick Warren says the Bible "is the only book you’ll ever have where you can talk to the author while you’re reading it," however, sometimes we can feel we don't know what the Bible means or aren't getting out of it what we think we should. Pastor Jason uses 4 stories from the Bible to illustrate why it is worth it to keep studying the Word, and 5 actions we may need to take in order to get what God wants us to get from our reading.

Our God created the universe and everything in it, but he didn't stop there. We can have confidence in the fact that God continues to play the role of Creator in our lives through the power of His Word. Pastor Jason speaks about how God is able to continue His creative and transformational works in our lives when we learn to allow His Word to take root in our hearts and minds.

We've all heard people claim that the Bible is a work of mythology, that it isn't supported by science, or that it is full of factual errors. Maybe you have even had thoughts like this at one point in time. You may be surprised to find just how flawed these arguments are as Pastor Jason shares a small percentage of the substantial evidence that the Bible contains more truth than we give it credit for today.

In preparation for our 40 Days in the Word campaign, we will learn that reading the Word and knowing the Word are two entirely different things. Pastor Jason shares how we can build our lives on God's Word in order to have an unbreakable grip on what it is that we believe as Christians.

It’s hard to get a refill from God when we are walking in disobedience. Pastor Jason speaks about how we can remain connected to God by fulfilling His purpose in our lives.

Sometimes with all the demands on our time, we find ourselves running on empty, but that is not what God desires for us. Listen to learn how to be continually re-filled by God’s love.
