  • Talkback Thursday : Is it ethical for bosses to keep employees under surveillance?

A company in the UK recently launched a productivity tool called WorkSmart, which allows employers to take pictures of employees at work through their webcams every 10 minutes or so. It's also able to monitor other sorts of data, like the type of apps in use, and even the number of keystrokes, which apparently, can indicate how productive you are at work. Now it's pretty common practice for employers to track some employee movements, but how far can workplace surveillance go before it's considered a breach of privacy? The question we're asking today is, "is it ethical for bosses to keep employees under surveillance?". We'd like to know your thoughts and experiences. Our lines will be open.

We find out what this change in Australia's make-up means and what sort of Australia we can expect moving forward.

But they're also the main actors behind a lot of conflict in this world. This week, we speak to David to find out why we like being in groups, when groups start becoming toxic, and whether it's time we give up the idea of groups.

  • Removing Violence from Childhood

According to recent data shared during the 72nd Session of United Nations General Assembly, a child dies every five minutes as a result of violence. And globally, one billion children experience emotional, physical or sexual violence every year. It's unfathomable to think that in this day and age, humankind isn't doing enough to protect our kids. Why do we let them suffer abuse, sexual violence, labour exploitation? Why don't families instil love at home? We speak to the woman whose job it is to advocate the need for education and awareness when it comes to ending violence in early childhood.
