Events at TMCC

Students entering career paths at TMCC signed a letter of intent to attend Truckee Meadows Community College.

Retired Brigadier General Joe Shaefer is a United States Air Force veteran with extensive knowledge and interest in the arctic region. General Shaefer talks about the current geopolitical situation developing the arctic region and how the United States may approach future relations with Russia and China.

David Feather is the Senior Director of Program Integration, Mission Support and Test Services at the Nevada National Security Site. Mr. Feather's presentation deals with nuclear weapons, nuclear testing and dealing with America's aging nuclear arsenal.

Robert Carlin is a Visiting Fellow at Stanford University's Center for International Security and Cooperation. Mr. Carlin has visited North Korea over 30 times and his discussion centers around the perils of misreading North Korea's government.

Dr. Alan Stavitsky is the Dean of the Reynolds School of Journalism at the University of Nevada, Reno. Dr. Stavitsky talks about the confusing state of journalism in national security today.

The topic of impeachment is examined by TMCC faculty. Learn more about the process and some of the history of impeachment in U.S. government.

Commander of the Naval Special Warfare Group One, Captain Matthew Rosenbloom discusses the history and current work of the Navy SEALs and well as the fight against terror.

Celebrate award recipients such as the 2018 Classified Employee of the Year, PTK Teachers of the Year, WDCE awards winners and eight newly tenured faculty professors.

The TMCC Library Committee hosts its annual campus community poetry reading event where students, faculty and staff are invited to read self-penned poems, one of their favorite poems, or listen to others read. It is a great way to share a love of poetry or cultivate an interest you may have in poetry.
