Season 2 Episode 35 - Disconnected Souls

This week on Every Podcast I love is Dead we hang out with Manchester, UK own Disconnected Souls. Holly Royle takes care of guitar, keyboards and clean vocals while Matthew "Fletch" Fletcher takes care of Guitars, back up vocals and keys. We chat about their influences, how the band started, the release of their debut EP "Warring Elements" in 2020 and it's subsequent re-release this year on Sep 10th. Disconnected Souls are hard to describe, they're atmospheric, they're heavy, they can be catchy and they incorporate elements of pop, electronic and hip-hop to make something so unique that you have to hear it for yourself! I really enjoyed my conversation with Holly and Fletch and I know you will too!

Season 2 Episode 34 - TheWord 66

It's the last week of August and we have one heck of a fun show for you. Your rock news, What's on my playlist, new releases and live stream shows are packed inside. We have guest, Steve Scott, guitarist for the Christian band TheWord66 drop by. The band released an EP earlier this year called "On the way to the promise land" which features 3 originals and a cover of Norman Greenbaum's "Spirit in the Sky." The band is currently in the studio recording new music that just might expand that EP to a full length album. The band calls Las Vegas home and the desert lent itself as a nice backdrop for the music video for the song "On the way to the promise land." Steve and I have a great conversation about music, including him veering off the path at one point which had him hang up his guitar until he found his faith again. This is the last week of July and we're going out in style, Super Cool Radio Style that is. Our guest this week is host of Super Cool Radio, Matthew Thomas. Matthew's show is also dedicated to music and he's interviewing 3, sometimes 4 guests a week. This special bonus episode features just the interview with Brett Smith-Daniels who is a UK born musician who now calls Vancouver Island home. Brett normally spends the year playing upwards of 240 gigs, so things have obviously slowed a bit over the last year. However, Brett released a new single called "Teenagers from Mars?" earlier this year and he is working towards a new album called "Disenchanted Youth."

This young artist has over 20 years experience and is really just starting his path of world takeover. We had a great conversation about what started Brett's journey, his appearance on CBC's the Dragons Den, new music and cancel culture.
