In this episode we meet the callow Jack Renauld, Hastings reveals his the details of his ill-advised crime scene contamination/hot date, and FINALLY Poirot Elucidates Certain Points.

In other news, John is sad to not to be able to fly north for the Winter, Holly is looking for picture books from her childhood, and father and daughter both do terrible impressions of Twin Peaks theme music for a potentially irritating length of time. 

Giraud jauntily pops in to tell the other detectives about some clues, but Poirot isn’t convinced. We also meet the late Mr Renauld’s secretary - a British, bronzed tall man with an effortless manner and a questionable past. 

In other news, Holly is depressed (quelle surprise) and John's car is filled with moss (quelle horreur). 

In this episode we meet the young goddess Marthe Daubreuil again, and her very well-preserved mother Madame Daubreuil. We also discover that Agatha Christie's idea of feminism is equal opportunity crime scene contamination. Hell!

A very loose breakdown of the main characters that may be helpful in understanding John & Holly's rendition of the book, or may just make it more confusing - who can say?

In this episode we meet the murder victim's wife, the dignified Eloise Renauld, and a puffed up detective from Paris, Monsieur Giraud. 

Holly continues to not know what words mean, or how they are pronounced. Luckily, John knows pretty much everything.  

Episode 2 goes slightly awry when Holly and John try to read 5 different characters’ expository lines with zero preparation, but get the all the clues we need in the end.
