If you know what matters most but don't build a system to remember it, there's a good chance you'll slowly drift away from it.
In this episode, Stephen and Megan wrap up their conversation on core values by sharing three practical ways to stay the course. Discover how a few simple rhythms can help you keep what matters most at the center of your everyday life.
In this episode:
• 1. Make it memorable — Create a simple action statement for each of your values (examples: "Stay close to Jesus." "Move toward people.") so they're easy to remember and live out.
• 2. Make it visible — Put your values somewhere you'll see them every day. Try your bathroom mirror, car, phone wallpaper, journal, Bible, or another place you'll encounter often.
• 3. Make it last — Revisit your values regularly. Put your next reflection date on the calendar so you can evaluate, adjust, and stay aligned over time.

What if the key to a more intentional life isn't doing more—but getting clear on what matters most? In this episode, Stephen and Megan explore one of the most foundational conversations we've had on the podcast: discovering your core values—or as we like to call them, your Main Things. We unpack why defining what matters most changes the way we make decisions, shapes our priorities, and helps us build a life of greater purpose instead of simply reacting to whatever comes our way.
Along the way, we play detective. Can you identify someone's core values by looking at their calendar, bank statement, the people they admire, or even their biggest regrets? Join us as we explore practical clues that reveal what matters most and encourage you to finally name and define the values that will become your compass for everyday life.
In this episode:
• Why your Main Things shape every decision you make• The difference between having priorities and actually defining them• A fun "Core Values Detective" exercise using clues from everyday life• Practical ways to uncover and name your core values• Why your values become a compass for living with greater purpose

What if the most productive thing you could do this week is... leave some space?
In this episode, Stephen and Megan explore the power of margin—the space between your capacity and your commitments. They talk about why margin is more than a time management tool, how it becomes a spiritual practice, and why making room for rest, delight, and relationships might be one of the healthiest things you can do. Plus, they settle an important debate: What's the difference between a sleepover and a slumber party?
In this episode:
EVERYDAY ADVENTURE CHALLENGE: The Time Audit
Take a look at your calendar from the past week.
Where did your time actually go? What gave you life? What drained you? Where could you intentionally create a little more margin this week?

In this special birthday bonus episode, Stephen sits down with his daughter Kinsley for their annual birthday interview as she turns eight years old. 🎂
They talk about family, friends, favorite activities, what she wants to be when she grows up, and what it's like being the oldest sibling in a house with two younger brothers. Along the way, Kinsley shares her big heart, thoughtful perspective, and the joy she brings to everyday life.
It's a fun conversation filled with laughter, sweet moments, and a snapshot of who Kinsley is at eight years old. More than anything, it's a chance to slow down and celebrate a season that won't last forever.
Here's to eight years of adventure, kindness, and the incredible gift of being her dad. 💛
Most people want to do more of what matters most. More meaningful relationships. More purpose. More time for the things that truly matter.
So why is it so hard?
In this episode, Stephen and Megan explore some of the external and internal factors that keep us from prioritizing what matters most. From packed schedules and competing commitments to fear, guilt, and uncertainty, they discuss what gets in the way—and why clarity matters so much.
Because if we aren't clear on what matters most, it's almost impossible to make room for it.
If you've ever felt stretched thin, distracted, or like your life is being driven by everything except your priorities, this conversation is for you.
EVERYDAY ADVENTURE CHALLENGE: QUIT SOMETHING
Inspired by Bob Goff's advice, choose one thing to stop doing this week.
Maybe it's a commitment that's no longer serving your priorities. Maybe it's a habit that's taking more than it's giving. Maybe it's a distraction that's crowding out something more important.
We're not talking about ghosting responsibilities or abandoning people. Handle things the right way. But ask yourself:
What is one thing I can remove to make room for what matters most?
Sometimes the best way to add more of what matters most is to eliminate something that doesn't.

What if the people at the end of life see something the rest of us miss? In this deeply moving conversation, Brandon Janous shares how a decision to spend a year traveling with his wife Rachel and their three children transformed his priorities and helped him discover what truly matters most. Shortly after that season, Rachel was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer, beginning a journey that would forever change their family.
Through stories of love, loss, faith, community, and resilience, Brandon shares the powerful lessons Rachel left behind and what dying taught them about truly living. This episode is an invitation to stop waiting, be fully present, and invest in the people and moments that matter most.
Everyday Adventure Challenge: The Just Do Challenge
One of Rachel's final messages to Brandon was simple: "Get the golf membership with your dad." It wasn't really about golf. It was a reminder that the things we'll treasure most are often the moments we share with the people we love. Don't wait for someday.
This week:
Take the trip. Sign up for the class. Schedule the coffee. Make the memory.
Just do the thing.

What if some of the struggles you're facing today have roots that go back much further than you realize?
In this episode, Dr. Jessica Turner shares her journey with depression and anxiety, including discovering her college roommate after a suicide attempt, navigating a difficult pregnancy and the premature birth of her twins, experiencing miscarriage, and revisiting childhood journals that revealed patterns she had long forgotten.
Together, we talk about the importance of facing our reality, bringing hidden hurts into the light, and embracing the healing that is available to us. Jessica also shares how her faith has shaped her journey and why she believes true wholeness is ultimately found in God.
Whether you have personally struggled with mental health challenges or love someone who has, this is a vulnerable, honest, and hope-filled conversation.
Everyday Adventure Challenge: Read Your Story
This week, set aside 20–30 minutes to revisit a piece of your story.
Pull out an old journal, scroll through old photos, revisit old text messages, or look back through a past season of life. As you reflect, ask yourself:
Write down one thing you discovered and one next step you can take toward healing, growth, or greater honesty.
Sometimes the clues to where God wants to take us next are hidden in the stories we've never fully processed.
