About Marverine Cole 

Marverine Cole is a multi-award-winning Journalist and Broadcaster. She has worked for ITV Central, BBC, Sky News and QVC the first black female presenter. She has produced original radio documentaries for BBC Radio 5 Live, BBC 1Xtra and BBC Radio 4. 

She sits on the Board of Directors of Birmingham Royal Ballet and is a Senior Lecturer and Director of Undergraduate Journalism courses at Birmingham City University.  Marverine is also a  Voiceover Artist and a consummate Events, Conference and Awards Host.

Marverine is one of Britain's leading beer commentators and is a Beer Sommelier (Britain’s first-ever black British beer sommelier) and has collaborated with breweries on her own beers.

"I used to think this would be a great idea for someone to do but little did I know that someone would be me. After having children my guest today experienced a slowdown in her legal career, penalised like most women still are for taking time out when her kids were born but she did not let that define her. Even though it meant transitioning into a new industry that she knew nothing about, she intentionally created a life that gave her the flexibility she needed as a mother but also allowed her to pursue her goals and dreams and ultimately become an owner of the business she worked in.
