The EVERYDAY MOM STUFF PODCAST has returned.
You know, I wanted to share everyday mom stuff and all the stuff that goes with that. Sometimes that "stuff" can be something pretty ridiculously goofy or it can be boring stuff. It can also be challenges that we go through as moms. If you've listened to my intro for the first few episodes, I say just that - sometimes the stories you hear from moms in this podcast may make you laugh and sometimes they may make you cry.
Creating this podcast and interviewing some amazing women has brought about such intense joy and some have made me cry as well. I must admit, I wasn't quite ready for the emotions I would feel while recording.
So, if you look at the dates between this episode and my last, you'll see a pretty big gap. I want to be sure the stories of the women I interviewed are being shared in the most genuine way. I want you, the listener, to hear from them and know how amazing these women are for showing up. I created a million "intros" and tried a gazillion different music clips. I'm not a professional. So, I stopped uploading. But, I know that value of each of these episodes comes from the moms themselves. The ones who showed up for me and for all of you, to share their journey.
And, so, I am back in the podcasting world to do just that - to be sure these stories are heard.
In today's episode, you will hear from Erin. She's a "trailing spouse" in the Foreign Service. This means that she moves to a new country every two to four years with her spouse. Challenging enough, right? This strong woman shares her journey into motherhood with us and how she navigated several challenges while navigating this unique lifestyle.
Today's episode is a sharing of my podcast that was published via "The Big Purple Blob". For more information on The Big Purple Blob" group of certified coaches and counselors, visit www.TheBigPurpleBlob.com!
Our TOP THREE TAKEAWAYS from today's show:
*Get to know me!! I will continue to include snippets of my own motherhood journey throughout various episodes in this podcast. One big part of my own "everyday mom stuff" involves moving to not only a new city but to a new country every two to four years. We are part of the Foreign Service community. As my spouse works in Embassies around the world, my daughters and I travel with him, requiring us to essentially start a new life on a regular basis in new schools and in new communities.
*Because of this amazing life, my daughters and I have had great opportunities to explore, but that hasn't come without a few challenges and eye-opening experiences that girls around the world face today. This exposure to these issues has challenged how my daughters navigate the world and how I parent.
*Whether you a parent in the US and have lived in the same community for decades, or you are a parent navigating a life of constant moves, listen in for five effective tools you can use to help raise empowered daughters.

That ONE Thing, aka, my favorite Christy Thomas quote:
"Just give yourself a big hug and know that you're exactly the right mom for your kids in both your strengths and your struggles. Both of them are going to help you to be an amazing human."
Our TOP THREE TAKEAWAYS from my conversation with Christy - listen in for the following:
*The POWER of PLAY! See play in a much broader view - beyond simply "pretend play" and what that looks like with our kids as they progress into new stages and ages
*The POWER in finding someone to lean on in times of struggle
*The POWER of 60 seconds. Can 60 seconds really bring you dramatic shifts in your parenting?

My favorite Ashley DeLuca line:
"I'm working really hard on creating a business that is created around my family and not a family that is created around my business."
Ashley DeLuca, a small business owner in Ohio, shares her own story along with her "everyday mom stuff" in our first episode. Ashley's infectious and cheery glow will be evident as you listen in to hear how growing up in a large family with five siblings helped to shape the independent, strong woman she is today.
Learn how "a day at a Panera Bread restaurant" with her BFF changed Ashley's career path and how Ashley found her groove along the path. Ashley speaks directly about the groove she was able to find in developing her own small business as an Email Marketing Strategist, but her insight can help all moms as we try to find balance and peace in our lives.
As Ashley shared with us, you can carve your own path. You can find your groove in your day to day without feeling like you "have" to do something or that you have to follow the trends.
