In this episode of Everyday Rockstars, I sit down with the amazing Lauren Tetenbaum, aka “The CounseLaur,” an attorney turned psychotherapist, women’s rights advocate, and author of the wildly smart, well-researched, so funny, and refreshingly relatable new book Millennial Menopause: Preparing for Perimenopause, Menopause, and Life’s Next Period. 👏👏
Lauren’s book is so comprehensive! It’s a must-read for all women (and the men who love them) that blends medical insight with pop-culture nostalgia, from the Spice Girls to Saved by the Bell and Britney Spears, making it as entertaining as it is empowering. Trust me, I had trouble putting it down! We talk about how she felt a calling that turned into an, that turned into a book! Major love given to The @JudyBlume - hi Judy! 🤩
We dive into A LOT:
-How Lauren helps women navigate fertility, perimenopause, and every stage in between in her office. Yet, how she and so many others were unprepared for the peri/menopause conversation.
-The inequities women of color face in menopause symptoms and care, and ways we can change that.
-The truth about HRT (Hormone Replacement Therapy) and why it’s safer and more effective than many realize.
Why they called her “Condom Girl” in law school! Got your attention? 😉
-Why humor and honesty might be the most powerful tools we have in reclaiming this challenging time and conversation.
This episode is real, raw, and FUN - a reminder that menopause isn’t a moment to fear…it’s time to understand, embrace, and even laugh about. Just like every stage in life, you must go through it. You may as well go through it armed with tons of resources, a sense of humor, and maybe even some appreciation. Thats how I walked away from reading it….and I’m totally in it. What do you think? Have you read the book? Would love to hear and I’m sure Lauren would love to as well. Thank you for your dedication to helping women, Lauren. You are a true rockstar! 💪💖🤩
✋Stop what you’re doing and have a listen to today’s actual rockstar!🤩
At just 10 years old, Isabella D’Amore Alt is already blowing us away with her soulful, breathtaking voice! The daughter of the iconic entrepreneur Pizza Girl/Caroline D’Amore💕, who joined us on Everyday Rockstars last year for her fearless advocacy and leadership in speaking out against hate, and punk-rock frontman Bobby Alt, Isabella has music and courage in her blood…and she appreciates it!
But, this young star is carving out her OWN spotlight…💫
Her soulful takes on songs like John Lennon’s Imagine, Teddy Swims’ Lose Control, and Benson Boone’s Beautiful Things have literally stopped us in our tracks (and millions of others on TikTok and Instagram too).
I’m super grateful Isabella joined us for her very first podcast.😍🙌 Her journey is blossoming SO beautifully, and what an absolute joy it is to witness! Could she be any cuter, too?! I love how focused she is and how she shows up for herself and her craft. I think it’s worth noting that we had some tech issues with zoom and sound and had to do this video over multiple times and on different platforms until we got the sound right. What struck me most, aside from the unforgettable, ethereal voice on this child and her sweetness, was how patient and totally cool Isabella remained. An extra superstar, in my opinion!👏👏
Isabella, we are cheering you on girl, waiting for your album drop, and can’t wait to come see you in concert! Thank you for sharing your gifts with the world, rockstar!
If you loved this episode, please drop a comment, share it with a friend, or send @isabelladamorealt some love. We’d both love to hear from you! 💖

What a JOY it was to sit down with Sara Joy Annapolen, the creative heart behind Shop Sara Joy. Sara’s had a lifelong love affair with color and fashion, one that began her career at DressBarn, where she spent years building relationships and loving her work. When the tides shifted after many great years and was let go, she poured that same passion and kindness into launching her own vibrant resort wear line (that went on to land in Bloomingdale’s)😵
Life was amazing as a fashion designer…but also became increasingly stressful. There was a constant need to create and innovate and it took a toll on her.
She had a pivotal moment when the world went dark. After October 7th, Sara felt a pull toward creating art that truly fed her soul, painting soulful Judaica and breathtaking murals, some stretching over 25 feet wide. She’s a master manifester who believes, with her whole heart, that the universe has her back (nod to Gabby Bernstein). By trusting her path, protecting her mental health, making the brave choice to let go of alcohol, and embracing her “Sara 2.0” chapter, her happiness and energy have soared! 🚀
We may have started out as acquaintances with mutual friends, but we left this conversation as friends. And, I know you’ll feel the same pull toward her warmth, wisdom, and energy. This is a beautiful episode about creativity, reinvention, and the magic that happens when you follow your heart without apology.
💛🤩

I had the most inspiring chat with the brilliant and undeniably funny, Simmy Kustanowitz 🎬✨ Hollywood TV producer, creative genius, business brainstormer, dream liver, and overall great guy.
Ever since this interview I can’t help but picture young Simmy at Universal Studios (gotta listen till the end) and think of the term “childlike wonder” and smile. My goal is to channel this type of calm, visionary energy and awe to all the things I get to work on, and I believe you will too once you meet him. Please check out our talk and follow along on his journey. I know you will be glad you did! Thank you, rockstar for your wit, wisdom and sheer magic. Mara Smith is the brilliant force behind Inspiro Tequila - a clean, super delicious tequila that’s as intentional and vibrant as she is. Her pivot from the legal and corporate strategy world (and motherhood with very tough bosses and zero raises!😜) to entrepreneurship is nothing short of inspiring. She didn’t just return to the workforce—she reinvented herself, diving into the world of tequila with the curiosity, drive, and excellence that define her!
From raising capital to raising kids, building a brand to building community—especially among fellow female founders, Mara does it all with calm, grace, and a really great sense of humor!
It was such an honor to have her on the show. Total rock star status. I’d really love to sip Inspiro, sing Sting, and do karaoke with her someday.
(Watch till the end for that reference!)

In this episode of Everyday Rockstars, Gilly sits down with powerhouse Shelley Zalis, founder of The Female Quotient and a true force in the movement for gender equality. Shelley shares the origin story of The Female Quotient, how she’s helping close the gender and pay gap from the inside out, and why mentorship and sisterhood are at the heart of lasting change.
