We are excited to be joined by James Martin of UGA, Cara Stewart of UGA, and Dallas Ingram of GADNR to discuss the various Bobwhite projects happening right now on public and private lands. We talk collars, bands, and predators with the folks who are seeking to learn about and conserve our bobwhite resources. Of note, there are ways for us regular folks to get involved with their efforts. Reach out to Dallas Ingram at GADNR for more info.
I’d also like to apologize for the audio quality. To get this group of awesome guest in the studio we used Zoom— the necessary evil. We try our best to be consistent with audio quality, it just wasn't in the cards this time.
In this episode we try to open up the world of field trialing through the various organizations. Whether it is AKC, UKC, American Field, NAVHDA, or NASTRA we are going to cover at least some of what you can expect if you choose to trial your hunting companion.
Long time; no see! We are having a killer season. Thanks for joining us.
This was recorded in March 2022 with Sam Baker, Henry Norman, and Jase Brooks.
In this episode we discuss our Top 5 goals for the offseason. Hopefully we will do a follow up to see if we met those goals or not.
Join Sam, Caleb and JAse as they look back on the 2021/22 Season.
After a long hiatus and after much consideration we are coming back for a second season. Thank you to all of those who wanted more episodes. I apologize for he long wait. Welcome to Season 2.
So quail season is FINALLY HERE in Georgia, and the whole EU crew and friends got together for a Big Bang season opener in South Georgia. Our guest and friend of the show Craig Bangart is joining us from the road to recap this amazing weekend.
We started on opening day on a public a land quanta hunt on a place we had been before. Success! Then after a night of hanging by the fire, we were treated to a hunt on Quailridge. We put out the rally green dogs in this low stakes environment to see what they could do and every single dog delivered. This was such a successful weekend that we talked about it as if it were some kind of finale, but it’s NOT! We have the whole season ahead of us. Thanks for indulging this look back on a weekend that I will never forget.

Ok so he hunted Woodcock too. Either way we catch up with Jase after his DIY, public land land road trip to chase grouse and woodcock in Michigan. He offers tips on how southern bird hunters can do the same. Why? Season extension, cooler temps, the list goes on.

This week Henry Norman (@quail.guide.dog.man) and Sam Baker (@everymanupland) discuss how the guiding season is going after the first month. All of our dogs have been on the job so we discuss where they are in their career and what they need to be an “A” dog. We also discuss where the young dogs are that haven’t made it into the string yet.
Quail Camp 2021 is just around the corner and we can’t wait. The wild quail opener is just a week away at this point. Wish you guys luck. Ill be on public land on the 13th.

This week we join GA Region NSTRA President, Gerald Pannell, in the field the run some dogs in a mock NSTRA feild trial. We could sit in the studio and talk about rules, but we figured you’d want some real examples. In the first half, I run my drop Setter, Perdi, and in the second half Gerald runs his Setter, Anna (pronounces with a long “A”— like Frozen). We miss some shots, birds don’t cooperate, but hey, that’s what working dogs looks like sometimes. I hope you guys enjoy this episode. Please leave us a comment if you are enjoying the content. Let us know what ok’d like to hear about on future episodes.
