AR+IO abbreviates the motto "Active Research and Informed Opinion", providing consistent numbering for all of the episodes (AR+IO-001, etc.) hosted by Eisel Mazard across many different podcasts, and united by one Patreon.  Eisel is better known as Zel from Ashdod, and was formerly known as the voice (and author) behind the (banned) youtube channel à-bas-le-ciel.

This one is on "Eisel Mazard: Monolingual Polyglot" the youtube channel, and "Everyone Hates Eisel Mazard" the podcast, but not on à-bas-le-ciel.

Perhaps the ultimate example of my motto, "HOW NOT WHY". ;-)

Learning a New Language for All the Wrong Reasons.

An imperfect parallel to my "dramatic return" to ASOIAF youtubing, I'd point out that quite a few of you started following me for precisely content of this kind… EVEN IF YOU'D RATHER NOT ADMIT IT NOW, IN RETROSPECT. ;-)

Escapism, political engagement and the alternatives: to what extent am I learning a new language just to escape from a cycle of imitation within my own life… to what extent am I learning something new to overcome "the aesthetics of substitution"? Too often, something truly new is desired only as a replacement for something already familiar, instead of being engaged with as genuinely unknown, studied for the sake of pressing into the unknown.

This one has interesting connections to what I've published in all three books, so far: (1) No More Manifestos, obviously, (2) Future of an Illusion, cryptically, and (3) Blood in the Snow, positively esoterically. Nobody will recognize what I'm doing (in these decades) as the proposal of a new kind of "philosophy of education"… BUT IT IS. ;-)

Socrates died for your sins, and unlike Jesus or Santa Claus or whatever, he had the good taste and refinement to stay dead, so that we could all keep on sinning. #vegan #vegans #veganism #veganmovement #veganfuture

The ultimate "how not why" video, concluding with an admission that I can't answer the latter question. And, perhaps, the ultimate "meaning of life" video as well. This was remixed from a recording in 2018, and to paraphrase 50 Cent only slightly, "I AIN'T CHANGED". #quitvideogames #quiteverything
