Karissa challenges Clark County Councilor Glen Yung’s statement to a constituent regarding his flip-flop vote on supporting the FBI’s continued illegal use of Clark County’s nearly 4,000 acre, mostly forested conservation property, Camp Bonneville---including his belief that the FBI should not be “conflated” with ICE.
Reporting over the last few months demonstrates unequivocally that the FBI is supporting ICE. They have, in fact, been directed to provide full operational support for ICE, including embedding themselves into ICE missions. Furthermore, the Portland Bureau of the FBI (who trains at Camp Bonneville) has been involved in the protests of the ICE facility in Portland where people's civil liberties have been violated. On top of this, the FBI has been directed via NSPM-7 to create a "domestic terrorism" list targeting immigration advocates, anti-capitalists, "anti-Americanism", and "anti-Christianity"---targeting essentially anyone to the left of Donald Trump. Given the latest news about Renee Nicole Good (that the FBI will not be investigating her murder but has now opened an inquiry into her connection to activist groups) and other reporting, there is no denying that the FBI is hard at work carrying out the NSPM-7 directive. Karissa breaks this all down and more---and comes with the receipts.
Do you feel comfortable with our Clark County Council voluntarily enabling a federal agency that is currently covering up for rich and powerful pedophiles as it drops balls left and right, wastes our resources hunting an Antifa boogeyman, and hunts us while assisting ICE in its deadly and lawless endeavors?
The FBI’s use of Camp Bonneville is merely a favor that Clark County has been doing for the FBI for decades. It’s our property, we have no obligation to support them, and we don’t even have a contract with the FBI---YET. We have the opportunity to materially oppose the Trump administration right here in Clark County, to strike a blow to this clan of federal agency thugs terrorizing, assaulting, and murdering people in our streets. If enough people show up to a council meeting to inform and to pressure our representatives on this, WE WILL WIN. It is literally just a matter of whether listeners will take this information, run with it, and get to organizing.
At 6pm on Tuesday, January 20th, you can speak for up to 3 minutes (in person, virtually, or over the phone) in opposition to the FBI’s continued use of Camp Bonneville on the basis of ICE collaboration and the NSPM-7 directive at Open Public Comment to the Clark County Council. The next day, January 21st, at 1pm, you can do the same by speaking to the Camp Bonneville agenda item. You can also SHOW UP to support the speakers by bringing a small sign that says “FBI are ICE collaborators,” “Feds out of our forests,” or another similar sentiment.
