Everybody’s favorite foul-mouthed, mustachio’d podcast is back — and for a very exciting episode.

Kevin Kelly, American sportscaster, radio host, and professional wrestling color commentator, executive, manager, pundit, and former ring announcer (as copied directly from his fancy Google search profile) joins Trey to talk FSU football and more, including:

Florida State Football’s first game is less than two weeks away which means that it’s time for head coach Mike Norvell and company to start shifting away from fall camp and into game prep.

That makes it an excellent time to recap all that has happened over these past couple of weeks of practice.

Luckily Tomahawk Nation has had boots on the ground for all practices this fall. The work done between newcomer Tommy Mire and veteran Brett Nevitt has meant that if you’re following their practice threads then you haven't missed a beat when it comes to FSU’s preparation for this season.

It also means that the guys on the Triple Option have a large selection of practice highlights to comb through.

The defensive line is one that has long been considered a strength for this Florida State Seminole team but was a serious letdown in 2020. Insert three transfers (two from the SEC) and the future looks bright again. Potentially a shift in scheme focus also could play a role in improved play for the front. Defensive line coaches John Papuchis and Odell Haggins have a big task ahead of them if the 2021 defense is going to make a leap.

Fall camp ramped up last Saturday and head coach Mike Norvell and the Florida State football team have been in full swing preparing for the upcoming season. Coach AB and I have gotten our hands on some of the practice film courtesy of our boy Tommy Mire of Tomahawk Nation and hope to give some insight on how and why Norvell runs his practices the way they do and give some general thoughts that we’ve heard around the Seminole beat.

The weakness of the Florida State program for years now is becoming a strength? We are going to find out when the 2021 season kicks off against Notre Dame. The FSU offensive line has to continue to trend in the right direction for this program to get back to where it wants to be. OL coach Alex Atkins has been a miracle worker on and off the field so he must continue his magic act. There is plenty of production returning for Atkins to work with and now they must develop the chemistry to make it work.

He was a special human being who earned an enduring legacy because of his wonderful heart, faith and values he lived. It was the honor of my lifetime to know him and beyond anything I could dream to have a relationship with him. My thoughts and prayers are with everyone who has been impacted by Coach Bowden and particularly with his wife Ann, their children, grandchildren, former players and coaches. The entire Florida State family is hurting right now at the loss of our program’s patriarch.”

Head coach Mike Norvell and the Florida State Football coaching staff have a lot of bodies at the wide receiver and tight end positions but do they have a difference-maker? That is to be determined but there are some names that are intriguing for the upcoming season. First, and foremost, Kansas transfer Andrew Parchment will look to become a true number one wide receiver. At the tight end, a name to watch is the veteran Camren McDonald.
