Warner Bros. Discovery is developing a new HBO Max series that will faithfully adapt J.K. Rowling's Harry Potter books, with each season covering a novel. The series, slated for a 2026 release, will feature a completely new cast, and is expected to be as expensive to produce as Game of Thrones. Francesca Gardiner and Mark Mylod will serve as showrunner and director, respectively.
