  • #19 The One With How To Achieve Your Goals Without New Years Resolutions
    Ahhh the new year 🎉

A time for celebration, reflection, and the infamous New Year's resolutions.

Every year, millions of us set these ambitious, and sometimes AMBIGUOUS goals, hoping to transform our lives for the better.

But let's face it, how often do those resolutions actually stick?

On the season final episode of the podcast, I share some of my thoughts on why New Years resolutions tend to fail by February and what we can do about it.

Thank you for tuning in to another season!! 🩵

  • #17 The One Where It Gets Emotional (Raw, Honest Reflections & Lessons From 2023)
The episode title says it all really 😅

Here are the list of questions in case you wanted to take some time for your own reflections as well 🩵

    - What did I let go of this year?
    - What was the most important lesson I learned this year?
    - What challenges did I overcome and what techniques did I use to overcome them?
    - What am I celebrating this year?
    - What am I thankful for?

    2023, THANK YOU.

You have truly been the year of growth, change and evolution.

For every single person who has supported my coaching biz, Evolution Diaries and just little ol’ me … THANK YOU from the bottom of my (big) little asian heart ☺️🙏🏼✨

    ---------------------------------------------------

Today marks a unique episode, offering a different perspective on an event which we have previously covered. A couple of weeks ago, we had the privilege of hearing Skye Woodlands' remarkable account of her survival following a brutal 2018 attack. If you haven't caught that episode yet, I strongly encourage you to do so (Season 3, Episode 2). Joining us today is Rick Walker, who is Skye's partner, and who played a pivotal role in her survival. To put it in simple terms, Skye would not be alive today if it wasn’t for Rick’s actions that night.

    Rick and I chat about:
    • What his life was like prior to the attack
    • The attack, from his perspective (his initial thoughts & feelings when he heard the commotion outside of their Townsville home)
    • The adrenaline he experienced (clarity, focus, speed and strength)
    • His actions which contributed to Skye's survival
    • Handling the emotional impact after witnessing a traumatic event
    • The changes to their lives and how he manages day-to-day
    • If the incident has changed his perspective on life and personal safety
    • How he is moving forward - both personally and as a support system for Skye
    • What he does to manage his mental and physical health
I would just like to give recognition to Rick's courage, bravery and ability to think and react/respond quickly in the face of a critical emergency. As the saying goes, "not all heroes wear capes".

I have the utmost respect for him and Skye and feel deeply honoured that they chose to share their incredible story on this podcast 🩵

  • #15 The One With Building Self-Trust (Embracing Personal Growth in the New Year)
    👋🏽 Welcome to another episode!

Today, we're diving into a pretty relatable topic – self-trust.

As we wrap up 2023 and gear up for the new year, I share some personal struggles I've been having, especially at this time of year 🎄

We chat about the rollercoaster of challenges that mess with our self-trust. From doubting ourselves due to past experiences to the fear of not measuring up or making mistakes, it's a real struggle.

Plus, we dig into how external stuff – like comparing ourselves to others or seeking validation – can throw a wrench into our self-trust journey.

More importantly, we talk about getting to know ourselves better, showing ourselves some love and understanding, surrounding ourselves with awesome people, and cutting ourselves some slack with realistic expectations.

So, join me and together, let's prepare for the new year by nurturing that self-assurance and embracing the journey towards personal growth 🌈🩵

    ---------------------------------------------------

On Halloween night of 2018, Skye Woodlands' life was drastically turned upside down when she was brutally attacked and stabbed thirteen times by a complete stranger at her Townsville home.

My purpose with this podcast has always been to share stories of resilience, survival and overcoming adversities. Skye's journey embodies all three aspects. Our goal is for her story to illustrate the resilience and strength innate within us as humans.

It goes without saying that I feel the deepest honour in being one of the first people that Skye has chosen and trusted to share her story with from her personal point of view. She is one of the strongest people I have ever met and I have no doubt she will inspire you guys with her strength and positive mindset too.

  • #13 The One With Motivation Vs Discipline (Keys to Sustainable Progress)
Welcome to Season 3 of the Evolution Diaries!! 🎉

Super excited to be back and in this episode, we chat about the whole discipline vs. motivation thing when it comes to getting healthier and kicking goals.
    • What is "Motivation" and what are the different types of motivation?
    • What is "Discipline" in terms of health and fitness? How is it different to motivation?
    • Tips on how to build discipline
    • We talk about balancing the two—using motivation to kickstart things and relying on discipline when the going gets tough.
    • Being flexible and adapting when motivation wanes is crucial
Remember, it's all about the journey! Keep pushing forward, finding that balance, and making those healthy changes happen.

    Enjoy! 🩵

  • #11 The One With Cinematic Chats (Horror Movies, Generational Trauma, Social Media & Anxiety)
You can thank my beautiful guest Mady Anderson (TikTok: @letswatchthat) for today’s spooky Halloween special 🦇👻

Mady has a very big obsession when it comes to horror movies - so big in fact, that her personal TikTok account (225k followers!) has now turned into a horror movie guide for other fans.

In this episode, we chat about:
    • Where her love for horror movies came from
    • Cinematography
    • Her childhood and generational trauma
    • Growing through trauma and hardship
    • Being multi-faceted
    • Social media and its influence
    • The evolution of film
Needless to say, this was such a fun and insightful chat and I'm much more open-minded towards horror films now after this episode with Mady.

Even if you’re not a horror movie enthusiast (I certainly wasn't!), I can guarantee that there’s something you can take away from this podcast episode.

    🎃 Enjoy! 🎃

Have you ever experienced temporarily or even permanently losing one of these and suddenly feeling lost?

    • My past struggles with tying my identity to CrossFit and my work as a coach/entrepreneur
    • Recognising the difference facets of your identity and character
    • Letting go of labels
    • Cultivating self-worth
    • What I’m doing to enjoy life outside of one “identity”
