  • God Provided the Lamb
The Bible does not gloss over the sins and failures of key figures, and Abraham is no exception. Genesis 22 happily represents the triumph of his faith expressed in his obedience to God's command to sacrifice his son Isaac, the one through whom all of God's promises would be fulfilled. In this account, we see Abraham's resolute manner as he prepares for the journey that leads him to the land of Moriah, where Isaac will be offered as a sacrifice. In a more subtle way, we see Isaac's willing participation and shared faith with Abraham that God will raise him from the dead. The true hero of the story, though, is God Himself, seen in the marvelously prophetic utterance of Abraham, "God will provide for Himself the lamb" (Genesis 22:8), which speaks of God the Father's resolve to save undeserving sinners, and the willing sacrifice and obedience of our Lord Jesus Christ, perhaps on the exact same hill about two thousand years later, when He was the final and perfect Lamb of God.

  • Our Creator
The sermon centers on Revelation 4:11 to affirm God as a worthy, watchful, and wishful Creator who deserves glory for bringing all things into existence. It contrasts the biblical account of literal creation with evolutionary theories, arguing that intelligent design points inevitably to a divine Architect. The preacher emphasizes that God not only initiated the universe but continuously sustains it and cares intimately for every individual. Believers are exhorted to please this Creator through faith in Christ, obedience to His word, walking with Him, and offering praise. Ultimately, the message calls listeners to recognize their dependence on God and to live lives that honor His majesty and purpose.

  • How the Serpent Seed Fails God's Word
Why should the word of God mean what it says where it tells us Cain knew his wife and she conceived, and mean something else sixteen verses earlier where it tells us Adam knew Eve his wife and she conceived? Set the two verses side by side, word for word, and see what stands between them. What does a woman mean when she says she has gotten a man from the LORD? And Adam knew Eve his wife; and she conceived, and bare Cain, and said, I have gotten a man from the LORD.

  • The Gospel Way Catechism | Question 2 - How Do We See God and Come to Know Him?
Today, we consider the second question of The Gospel Way Catechism: How do we see God and come to know him? The answer: We see God by the light of his revelation, not by our imagination. God reveals his character and purposes through his Word and works. We live in a world that encourages us to define truth for ourselves—even to imagine God according to our own ideas, experiences, and desires. But the gospel gives us a different way. We don't have to guess who God is because he has made himself known. Through his creation we see the fingerprints of his character, and through his Word we see him most clearly. In this conversation, we'll consider what it means to know God as he has revealed himself and how Scripture becomes the lens through which we see God, ourselves, and the world around us.
