  • Exodus 5
This sermon explores Exodus chapter 5, using Pharaoh's defiance as a typological picture of Satan's resistance to God's deliverance. The preacher contrasts the crushing burdens of sin and worldly authority with the rest and freedom found in Jesus Christ. Key themes include the necessity of sacrifice for communion with God, the reality of increased spiritual conflict upon obedience, and the assurance that God's promises prevail despite immediate suffering. The message encourages believers to trust in Christ's finished work rather than their own efforts, affirming that God alone holds the final word over bondage and despair.

  • Psalm 29
The sermon explores Psalm 29 to demonstrate God's absolute sovereignty over creation and His rightful claim to worship. It contrasts the true power of Yahweh with the false promises of Baal, illustrating how humanity often attributes life's blessings to idols rather than their Creator. The preacher challenges listeners to conduct an honest audit of their hearts to identify modern idols that provide false security and comfort. This examination leads to the gospel truth that Christ bore the full weight of divine judgment on the cross, offering believers genuine strength and peace. The message concludes with a call to reorient worship toward God alone, resting in the finished work of Jesus.

  • Created or Evolved?
Since none of us were alive to witness the beginning of time and the world in which we live, whatever we believe about the origin of this planet and life itself we must take by faith! Those who do not believe in an intelligent creator must believe that everything we see is a product of chance and time! That nothing somehow produced everything we see out of nothing; that a chaotic explosion somehow produced order; and that non-life produced life and from that life evolved man. Those who believe in creation by God believe in the existence of an intelligent designer, an uncaused being that created everything out of nothing, that so designed this earth to support life, and that He Himself is the source of life. Life produced life! And God created the animals and man as fully functioning, living beings capable of reproducing after their kind. This too we take by faith, but it is not blind faith. For the evidence from the natural world proves beyond a reasonable doubt the existence of an intelligent designer. This message looks at the evidence in answering four questions: How did the world come into existence? How finely tuned is this planet to support life? What is the source of life? And did we all evolve from a common ancestor? Even with all the evidence, we by faith believe that the worlds were framed by the word of God!

  • The Hope of the Resurrection
The sermon distinguishes between the believer's current spiritual state and the future physical redemption, emphasizing that while Christians are born again with eternal life on the inner man, their bodies await adoption. Drawing primarily from Second Corinthians five and Romans eight, the preacher explains that the whole creation groans for deliverance from corruption, mirroring the believer's longing for the resurrection of the body. The text clarifies that salvation is not merely about escaping hell or gaining a home in heaven, but about being made a new creature with life hidden in Christ. It warns against entangling oneself in worldly affairs, urging believers to walk by faith and rest in the assurance of the Spirit's witness. Ultimately, the message offers comfort through the promise that death leads immediately to being present with the Lord, securing an eternal hope beyond the dissolution of the earthly tabernacle.
