  • Our Creator-God
The sermon explores the Christian doctrine of creation, emphasizing that the triune God made all things out of nothing by His powerful word. Drawing on Genesis, Hebrews, and Revelation, the text argues that seeking ultimate fulfillment in created things leads to sorrow, whereas true satisfaction is found only in the Creator. The preacher highlights key theological truths, including God's sovereign power, the distinction between Creator and creature, and the artistic majesty displayed in creation. These doctrines are presented as practical tools for cultivating humility, awe, worship, and trust in God. Ultimately, the message calls believers to love God for His gifts rather than idolizing the gifts themselves, pointing toward the hope of new creation through Christ.

  • Treasure in Heaven
The sermon expounds on Matthew 6, urging believers to prioritize eternal treasures over temporary earthly possessions by recognizing the inevitable decay of material wealth. It emphasizes the necessity of single-minded devotion to God, warning against the spiritual danger of serving both divine and worldly masters simultaneously. The preacher encourages the audience to abandon anxiety regarding daily needs, pointing to God's provision for creation as evidence of His care for His people. Central to this message is the command to seek the Kingdom of God first, trusting that all necessary physical provisions will be supplied by a faithful Father. Ultimately, the passage calls for a life defined by relational faith and active pursuit of righteousness rather than passive worry or cultural compromise.

  • Abraham's Failure and God's Faithfulness
God is faithful to fulfill His promises, even though our faith and obedience sometimes waver. In Genesis 20, Abraham, after traveling south, repeats a sin from earlier in his life - fear about his personal safety leading him to say that Sarah is his sister instead of his wife. It is graciously followed by the first section in chapter 21, which shows God's faithfulness in fulfilling His promise of a son born to Sarah and Abraham. The two passages, back-to-back in the Scripture, form a reminder that believers can fall into the same sins, sometimes called "besetting sins", which cause us embarrassment and regret, but our Lord and Savior is always faithful to His purposes in conforming us to be like Jesus. The apostle Paul expressed the same idea in 2 Timothy 2:13, writing, "If we are faithless, He remains faithful, for He cannot deny Himself."

  • "The New Heaven and Earth" (Selected Scriptures)
Dr. Jon Jacobs explores the biblical doctrine of the new heavens and new earth, arguing that God's ultimate plan is the restoration rather than the annihilation of creation. Drawing from Genesis through Revelation, Dr. Jacobs traces the narrative arc from the original Edenic mandate to its disruption by sin and its eventual fulfillment in Christ. The central message emphasizes that believers are called to live in holy conduct while eagerly anticipating the renewal of all things. This final state represents the recovery of God's original intent for humanity to dwell with Him in a glorified, physical world.

  • Behold Your God #49
The sermon explores the Eighth Commandment, "You shall not steal," by examining its statement, extent, and theological basis. It defines theft broadly to include actions, thoughts, and attitudes such as fraud, laziness, and kidnapping, while affirming that private property is a good creation ordinance from God. The preacher argues that the positive counterpart to this prohibition is diligent work and generous giving to meet the needs of others. Drawing on Pauline epistles and the Sermon on the Mount, the message connects honest labor with the ability to support the community and fulfill the law of love. Ultimately, the teaching encourages believers to view work not as a burden but as a sacred duty that reflects God's character and promotes neighborly care.
