My guest today is the founder and CEO of Pavegen, a clean-tech company that has pioneered a flooring technology, generating electricity from the kinetic energy of footsteps. Having graduated with honors from University in Industrial Design and Technology, he set out on this amazing journey by launching the business and filed the first patents with £200, in 2009.
Since its inception, Pavegen has taken the technology to production and delivered commercial projects for some of the largest global brands, such as Google, Coca-Cola, Mercedes, Ford Motor Company They even had an installation for the London 2012 Olympics and currently are live on Dupont Circle in Washington DC.
He is a global thought leader and speaker; his TEDxBerlin talk was featured amongst TED’s top talks on envisioning the cities of the future and changing thinking on fossil fuels. Additionally, he was the youngest CEO of a British small business delegation, joining the ex-Prime Minister, David Cameron, on a state visit to China.
