With the Hellfire Club revealed to our heroes, they decide they need to meet their enemies on their own ground: at a Hellfire party in the Inner Circle's New York base. However, the Hellfire Club are prepared for them. Mastermind is able to convert Jean Grey fully into the Black Queen, and the X-Men are quickly captured by one of their own. With a battle on the astral plane striking Cyclops down, will the X-Men be able to defeat the Inner Circle? (They can). Will Jean shake off her brainwashing? (She will). Will Jason Wyngarde get what's coming to him? (He absolutely will and it will be soooooo awesome!)

X-Men 129-131

The Dark Phoenix Saga is here! With Banshee retired and the X-Men reunited, our merry mutants return to the mansion. Charles Xavier has return, but there's no time to worry about that! Cerebro has detected two new mutants: the teenager Kitty Pryde in Illinois and the DISCO QUEEN, Dazzler, in New York City. The X-Men split up only to be ambushed by their new foes, The Hellfire Club, at both locations. With their teammates captured, the remaining X-Men must take on a new foe to save them: The White Queen... Emma Frost! Can the X-Men survive this new and mysterious threat?
