Some habits become lifestyles until eventually they just become an explicit part of who we are. The challenge is in maintaining the new habits we need to develop in order to grow and succeed. Sometimes these habits are simply achieved by forcing ourselves to do them for a period of time until they become instinctive.

  • Remembering Yesterday The Wrong Way
When your bitten by a shark, don’t look at the wound for you could die of shock. The same applies in life. Life is like surfing, going with the flow and learning to balance yourself on a board against different waves that approach you. You’re falling, swimming, tiring yourself out and sometimes enjoying the ride. It’s exhausting and exhilarating simultaneously. That’s life. And suddenly, a shark comes, an unexpected event that throws us off our boards (comfortably lives) and catches us off guard. A new wound, a new problem comes and we are faced with the decision to focus on the wound and risk the potential shock that can distort our perspectives and leave us crippled into depression, or to wait until we get the right help before looking at the wound (situation). • Did I Ask?
Have you ever been asked ‘ Did I ask’ by someone you tried to help, guide or advise something to? It’s crazy to think that our society has evolved so much from being one that had many limitations in terms of its freedom of expression and now we live in a world where expression is celebrated and accepted. However, the fear of not feeling wanted or being ‘in-demand’ can sometimes hinder us from pursuing our goals and sharing our forms of expression with the world. The world doesn’t always ask for what it needs most. You may just have what people need but do not ask for.

  • What we FEEL VS what we want to FULFILL
Do you allow your feelings to dictate whether or not you do what you need to do in order to achieve the things you have set out for yourself ? Do you always need your circumstances to be perfect in order to remain consistent and motivated ? Do you need to be in the mood ? The reality is that our feelings are changed and impacted by external and internal factors that we cannot always control. Our feelings fluctuate, so we cannot allow how we feel to determine our actions in terms of our pursuits. We have to remain focused, pushing past our own feelings and temporal moods of laziness and discouragement if we truly want to reach the end destination of our goals. No matter why your goal is, whether it is personal growth or a more tangible achievement, you need to actively make a decision, every single day that you will do what needs to be done despite your own feelings. We cannot allow temporary feelings to determine eternal results.
