This week we’re in part three discussing joy. We’ve laid our foundation in Scripture with the songs of praise written by women and feminine prophetic imagery. Now we’re digging into the implications of joy for our current moment. How can authentic joy anchor us? What are the ways women can lead the way with joy as resistance in an age of despair? And what is it about feminine laughter that is so provoking? We’re asking those questions and more today.

This week we’re in part two discussing joy. We’re digging into our last female psalmists and a powerful prophetic image. We’re continuing with our biblical foundation and then next week we will discuss more of our cultural applications. We want to give space for us to discuss these valuable passages and the power of joy to anchor us.

In a time of despair, joy is resistance. This week we’re discussing joy, women, and the female psalmists of Scripture. We’re going to lay a biblical foundation in part 1 and then next week we will discuss more of our modern application. We’ve covered some of these in part but we’re excited to discuss more of the themes that we can draw from the songs of praise we have written by women.

It’s March Madness! Which means it’s the perfect time for us to revisit our conversation on the Revolution in Women’s Sports. Whether you’re an avid sports fan or you’ve never watched a full game, this episode has something for you!

Today we’re talking about a timely topic of women in sports. Last episode [ Season 3 | The Doubled Edged Sword of Tradwives + the Soft Girl Era] we talked about stepping outside of rigid understanding of femininity and gender roles and the rise in popularity of women’s athletics is a great way to continue that conversation.

Women’s sports have never been better so it's a great time to shine a light on them! We’ll talk about how we got here, the valuable leadership girls and women learn through sports, the cultural impact, and how we can join the revolution.

Scripture references - the story of Deborah and Jael in Judges. See our episode “Ladies Who Lead” for their full story.

Join our 2025 Women’s Tournament bracket challenge! Must be completed by 11:30am EST on 3/21 (before the tournament begins) The winner will receive women’s basketball merch of your choice!

Last week we started a conversation about rest and sabbath by digging into the passages where God commands us to rest. This week we’re talking about some of the very real obstacles to rest and ways our social location impacts our rest. We’re joined by Dr. Whitney Trotter, a registered dietitian with attention to the whole person. We’re inviting all of us to reconsider how we engage rest and to evaluate some of the rhythms of our days, weeks, and months.

This week we’re digging into a topic that we’ve never dedicated a full episode to and that’s sabbath and rest. Keeping the sabbath holy is one of the ten commandments but we rarely hear about it in the American Church. For the next few weeks, we’re talking about what Scripture has to say about rest and the unique challenges for women to rest well.

In Barbara Brown Taylor’s memoir, she tells a story of being asked to speak on “What’s saving your life right now?” In the middle of winter, it’s a question worth revisiting to cultivate joy and celebrate moments of delight. So this week we’re taking a little moment to check in and ask what’s bringing life. Hear what’s getting us through right now and take some time to connect with yourself and what’s currently bringing you joy.

Today as we enter our final week of study on female imagery in Revelation, we’ll be discussing the Bride of Christ from Revelation 21. There is wedding and marriage language throughout both the Old and New Testament and it serves as a common metaphor for God’s covenant of faithfulness with his people. All of that culminates here at the end of the Bible, where the story comes full circle. This makes it clear how much Revelation is truly a book about hope and our trustworthy God who keeps his promises.

Today we’re in part 3 of our 4-part series on female imagery in Revelation. A major theme of the book of Revelation which we will see amplified in our passage today is that of forgery, or counterfeiting the things of God. As we study Revelation chapter 17 and “The Great Prostitute” of Babylon, we’ll uncover extensive imagery that is referencing the Wisdom literature and the ways that Satan is trying to copy goodness and Godliness. This is once again imagery that should be clear to Bible scholars but which is typically overlooked because it connects parts of the Bible that focus on feminine language. So let’s uncover the ways that God is tying scripture together and how that informs our discernment of truth in the things we pursue.

Today we are in week 2 of our 4-part series on female imagery in the book of Revelation. This week we are studying Revelation 12, the woman and the dragon. There is plenty of speculation about the identity of this woman. Is she Eve, is she Mary, what does she represent? In order to faithfully interpret this extremely rich passage, we will draw from the entirety of scripture to see how the story of God’s people has unfolded and will culminate. Get your Bibles out and get ready to dig into where we’ve been and where we’re going.
