Sue and Kendra talked with Marine Corps veteran and Pat Tillman Scholar, Nina Guerra who, after leaving the military and returning to civilian life, started working with horses as a way to cope with her anxiety and PTSD. Now, she’s helping other veterans do the same at Rustic Ranch in Texas, where she leads equine-assisted therapy and wellness programs designed to help veterans address emotional triggers, build resiliency, and regain stability in their everyday lives.

Rosie’s Place’s annual luncheon, Funny Women…Serious Business takes place on November 6th at the Menino Convention and Exhibition Center. This year the featured speaker is Rachel Louise Snyder, an award-winning author and investigative journalist whose work explores the causes and consequences of the violence that impacts women. Her powerful memoir Women We Buried, Women We Burned recounts her own story of loss and survival. When eight-year-old Rachel’s mother died, the years that followed were traumatic, culminating in her becoming homeless at age 16. Living out of her car and relying on strangers, Rachel eventually found her way to college and went on to travel the globe.

Sue and Kendra talked with Meredith Mendelson, Executive Director of The Ellie Fund, about their mission of supporting patients, funding care and providing hope.

Matt lost his mom Janice to breast cancer in 2022 and since then has rallied friends, family and industry colleagues to help in the fight against the disease. The concert fundraiser has even included big names like Oscar winner Ariana DeBose and Tony Award winners John Gallager Jr and Lauren Patten to name a few.

Sue and Kendra talked with Heather White, Executive Director of the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention MA Chapter. Heather has a personal connection to the cause and shared her story with us, including how she nearly lost her own life after suffering from post-partum depression. Belinda Buras and Linda Simeone – known as ‘Bee and Lin’ on Instagram and Tik Tok– they are the couple behind the viral sensation that started with just one playful joke back in 2020. Bee is the joke-teller, while it’s Lin’s priceless reaction that makes them one of our favorite follows on social media.
