After a scorching weekend, things are going to stay red hot in the Carolinas this week. Forecaster Larry Sprinkle says we can expected temperatures in the mid-to-upper 90s with the heat index making it feel like 100-plus degrees. The heat and humidity will remain oppressive thorugh at least the end of this week. The weather will be the worst starting Wednesday, when have an extreme risk for dangerous heat.

Meanwhile, Charlotte city leaders are set to vote on the proposed renovations to Bank of America Stadium. If approved, Charlotte would contribute $650 million toward the upgrades. As part of the deal, the Panthers and Charlotte FC would be locked into the Queen City for 20 years. Richard DeVayne joins the show with the latest as some people say updating the stadium is unnecessary right now.
