  • [Ep 8] : The Absurdity of Life with Camus in the Myth of Sisyphus

Update - The Podcast is being rebranded, hence the social media handles mentioned in the podcast are no longer valid. Thank you

Can you really escape this trivial petri dish of nonsensical repetition we are condemned to? Take birth, go to school, work, marry, have kids, die. That’s it. No matter where you travel, what you eat, who you love, the trivial nature of life remains inescapable. This is what Camus would call Absurdity. For Camus, life itself isn’t absurd, it is the nature of the relationship humans share with their consciousness that is Absurd...

  • [Ep 7] : Lets get rid of Anxiety with Søren Kierkegaard

Update - The Podcast is being rebranded, hence the social media handles mentioned in the podcast are no longer valid. Thank you

Think about how you describe yourself. For starters, I call myself a writer. I write, and that is all I can do. That is the essence of my being. Writing. However, let's say, one day walking I get into a fight with this monkey who wants to steal my glasses. I struggle, while other monkeys throw banana peels at me in support of their friend who wants to be triumphant in winning my glasses. I slip on a peel, bump my head, forget everything about language, words, etc but remember how I identified myself as a writer. Who am I then? I cannot write anymore! What is my self? Should I even continue to live? Think about it every time you say, you’re a foodie, a hiker, a rock climber, or the dude who took the hardest kick on his balls, the ball guy. Is that really you though? Or are you enforcing that label upon yourself to avoid being face-to-face with dread?

  • [Ep 6] : The Dream of a Ridiculous Man and The End of Suffering?

Update - The Podcast is being rebranded, hence the social media handles mentioned in the podcast are no longer valid. Thank you

Dostoevsky, through this short story gives us a sneak peak at a possible utopia. Dostoevsky through the Ridiculous man says one of the most heartbreaking lines ever written concerning our existence and state of being. He writes “On our earth we can love truly only with suffering! We are unable to love otherwise and we know no other love. I want suffering, in order to love.” This pretty much sums up the agony of our existence. Yet we are not to forsake love. Dostoevsky believes that love, and only love can redeem us from this agony.

  • [Ep 4] : Why Does Living Suck | Enter Schopenhauer

In a very confusing episode, I talk about the grave nature of existence. This episode focuses on the works of Arthur Schopenhauer and his ideas of the Will-To-Life, much like Darwin's theories of evolution.

Schopenhauer believes that we are making a mistake exiting the way we are and he tries to teach us the right way to live and avoid pain for real. A true western Buddha!
