Peggy Schott is a native of New Orleans, where she began acting in musical theater in school. After her three children had grown, Peggy began working in film and television in Texas.

Peggy has also produced several short films and music videos, worked in casting, and directed the short film “Laurie’s Poem – a true story”*. Currently she can be seen as Becky Travis in the faith based crime drama series “Vindication”.

In our talk, Peggy and I discuss how she relates to her character on “Vindication” and we also hear some behind the scenes stories that she shares.

Peggy Schott is a native of New Orleans working as a film, television, commercial and stage actor based in Austin, Texas.

Peggy performed in high school with the theater department at Jesuit New Orleans. After many years working as a graphic designer, in small business, non-profit work, and raising children, she returned to her love of acting in her mid-40s.

In just a few years Peggy has performed lead roles in stage plays and many short films, had supporting or principal roles in several features and appeared in series. A notable theatrical role was as historical figure Varina Davis in the original stage production of “Sisters Under the Skin”. In films Peggy has performed in scenes opposite Tye Sheridan, Imogen Poots, and a young McKenna Grace. She appears in features that have premiered at SXSW, Sundance and Cannes including Annie Silverstein’s “Bull”. Peggy’s series work includes the recurring role of Tess on AMC’s “Fear the Walking Dead” and as series regular Becky Travis on Amazon Prime’s “Vindication”.

Peggy is a versatile performer known for her dramatic roles as well as comedic characters in genres from historic to horror to stoner to faith-based.

Peggy has also taken the opportunity to learn about the film industry behind the camera working in the casting department on Terrence Malick’s “Song to Song”, as extras casting director for A.J. Edward's "Age Out", as a producer of music videos and short films, an assistant director and recently directed her first short film "Laurie's Poem" starring Avi Lake of Netflix’s “A Series of Unfortunate Events”.

Goal: To work with talented, dedicated people on quality, meaningful, enjoyable projects.

Peggy is married and has 3 children.

Pastor Dawna has been married to Pastor Eddie Elguera, for the past 35 years. Raised in Lake Arrowhead, California, she has been serving in church since 1988. During her time on staff, as one of the senior associate pastors, her responsibilities included being the youth pastor with her husband, women's ministry administrator, and School of Ministry instructor.

Over the past two decades, Pastor Dawna and her family have traveled throughout North America, Central and South America, Europe, Australia and Asia through various missions and ministry opportunities.

In 2006, she and her husband were launched into the adventure of co-pastoring and leading Rock Church in the Palm Springs area. She loves the full life God has entrusted to her and enjoys navigating the adventure of marriage, motherhood, being a grandmother, ministry and the momentum that Kingdom life presents. Her strong leadership gift and her commitment to excellence fuel her commitment to teaching the Word of God with a lively, inspiring and practical approach, so that all who hear would be motivated to expand their capacity to reach their God-given potential in Christ.

Dawna Elguera never had a white-picket fence childhood. Upon graduating from the Asolo Conservatory with her MFA and equity card, she moved to New York City to continue training and acting off-Broadway, regionally, and internationally in addition to small roles on the big and small screen. After continually being asked to separate her “religion” from her work or if “you won’t do this, we will find someone else who will,” Candace sought wise biblical counsel and after much prayer, left the business. Mandy and Danny are also pursuing their dream of having a small farm, raising kids, and camping and her follow-up book combines nature and science along with a photography project called “Rosie the Mammal and Harlan the Animal: Tales From A Mother Without A Tribe.”

Bio on our guest:

Steve Hemphill was born & raised in a small town in central Texas, Mason. He attended Abilene Christian University from 1975 to 1979, graduating thank the Lordy with a Marketing Degree. He put that talent to work when he established and ran his own technology company in the Northeast Texas area for almost 28 years. He built that business to 35 employees and $6 million in annual revenue before becoming the author of a book on heaven, “My Search for the Real Heaven.” This book was the direct result of Steve finding a sealed envelope addressed to him in his father’s safe after his dad passed away. It instructed Steve to destroy the sealed envelope without opening it.

After the release of his book on heaven, Steve began to get speaking invitations all over the country from churches who wanted to use his book and his presentations on heaven for a community outreach.

This led to a second book, “My Search for Prayers Satan Hates,” which is focused on spiritual warfare and the power of prayer, and a third book on this topic, “What Are The Stakes?” Steve does an outreach lecture series on these books called, “Demons vs. Prayer,” or simply, “Spiritual Warfare.”

Steve sold out of business in 2009, and, although he gets no salary for being in ministry, and charges no fee to come speak, he has spoken in 180 cities in 18 states and 3 countries since becoming an author and inspirational speaker.

He has a passion for ministry and people, and love to share his “God Stories.”
