Mit dem Flugzeug nach Dubai, dem Zug ins Tessin oder auf dem Kreuzfahrtschiff in den hohen Norden: Ein Traumurlaub sieht bei jedem anders aus. Oliver Howald ist dafür verantwortlich, dass diese Träume in Erfüllung gehen. Der VP Sales and Crisis Management bei DER Touristik Suisse beschäftigt sich seit mehreren Jahrzehnten beruflich mit dem Thema Ferien. Im Gespräch mit Moderatorin Kiki Maeder diskutiert Oliver Howald die aktuellen Trends und Herausforderungen der Branche und verrät, wie luxuriös die Ferien seiner Kunden ausfallen.
Unter der Leitung von Georges Kern wurde aus der verstaubten Marke Breitling innerhalb weniger Jahre einer der grössten Player der Uhrenbranche. Im exklusiven Gespräch mit Moderatorin Kiki Maeder sinniert der deutsch-französische CEO über das Verhältnis von Luxus und Notwendigkeit in seinem Metier und gibt Einblick in seinen vielfältigen Arbeitsalltag. Ausserdem erzählt Georges Kern, wie er zu seinem ganz persönlichen Luxus gekommen ist: dem Filmemachen.
Als «Spartacus» des Radsports stand Fabian Cancellara regelmässig ganz oben auf dem Podest. Heute spielt sich sein Alltag als Stiftungsratspräsident der Laureus Stiftung und Owner des Tudor Pro Cycling Teams vermehrt hinter den Kulissen ab. Im Talk mit Moderatorin Kiki Maeder spricht Cancellara über die Herausforderung, sich nach dem Ende einer Spitzensportkarriere im Leben zurechtzufinden. Und erklärt, wieso das Velofahren für ihn mittlerweile zu einem Luxus geworden ist.
Vor gut 50 Jahren hat sich Abt Peter von Sury für ein Leben im katholischen Benediktinerkloster Mariastein entschieden. Als Mönch lebt der Solothurner seither mit wenig materiellem Besitz und ohne Luxus. Im Gespräch mit Moderatorin Kiki Maeder erklärt er, wie er diesen Verzicht auf Materielles empfindet und welche Momente seines Alltags er dennoch als luxuriös empfindet. Nicht zuletzt gewährt Abt Peter von Sury zudem Einblick in die Gedanken, die er sich über die Zukunft der Kirche macht.
Als Hotelier hat Marco Zanolari bereits in erstklassigen Betrieben auf der ganzen Welt gearbeitet. In seiner aktuellen Position als CEO von The Living Circle setzt er nun auf modernen Luxus, der nicht zuletzt auf Nachhaltigkeit ausgerichtet ist. Im Talk mit Moderatorin Kiki Maeder spricht der Bündner über sein berufliches und privates Verständnis von Luxus – und erklärt, was das Essen in Personalrestaurants mit der Zufriedenheit von Hotelgästen zu tun hat.
Ein Starkoch der Schweiz: Sven Wassmer. In seinem Restaurant Memories in Bad Ragaz kreiert er Gerichte, die aktuell 18 GaultMillau-Punkte und drei Michelin-Sterne wert sind. Der 36-Jährige setzt auf «alpine Küche», wobei einfache, frische und lokale Zutaten im Mittelpunkt stehen. In dieser Episode spricht Sven Wassmer mit «Exploring Luxury»-Moderatorin Kiki Maeder darüber, wie aus Bodenständigkeit Luxus wird und reflektiert die grossen und kleinen Momente in seiner aktuellen Lebensphase.
In dieser Folge geht ́s in die Theorie: Unser Gast Dr. Fabio Duma ist der absolute Experte, wenn es um Luxus geht. Nicht weil er ihn selbst besonders intensiv lebt, sondern weil er Luxus als Studienfach an der ZHAW unterrichtet und grosse Firmen zu ihren Luxus-Strategien berät. Im Gespräch mit Kiki verrät er, woher Luxus ursprünglich kommt, wo er ihn in Zukunft sieht und warum Luxus ein Gefühl von Verliebtsein auslösen sollte.
Cédric Waldburger ist Unternehmer und Startup-Investor. Damit hat der 34-Jährige bereits viel Geld verdient. Anstatt dieses auszugeben, investiert er es direkt in neue Unternehmen. Er selbst besitzt kaum etwas. Sein ganzes Hab und Gut passt in einen Rucksack, so dass er jederzeit überall sein kann. Als «Essentialist» feiert er den Minimalismus – Besitz belastet ihn eher. Wie der erfolgreiche Unternehmer zu dieser Einstellung gekommen ist und was Luxus für ihn bedeutet, erzählt er in dieser Folge.
Yaël Meier gehört zu den «Forbes 30 under 30» im Jahr 2020 und führt mit ihrem Lebenspartner ein eigenes Unternehmen mit 15 Angestellten. Seit zwei Jahren ist sie auch Mutter und das alles mit gerade mal 22 Jahren. Sie gilt als inoffizielle Sprecherin der Gen Z und hat ganz klare Vorstellungen für die Zukunft ihrer Generation. Was für sie und ihre Generation Luxus bedeutet, verrät sie in dieser Folge.
